Believe the other recent reviews of rude staff. I was booked for 2 nights last week. Check in was fine and I got settled into my room. Late in the evening while throwing something into the room waste can I noticed what appeared to be dried blood on the side of the can. Upon further inspection I also noticed it on the dresser/tv stand as well. Since it was late I decided to wait till morning to request another room. First thing next morning I went to the front desk and spoke with the clerk about switching to another (CLEAN) room. He asked me why and I explained the blood stains I found. He said to check back with him in a couple hours after housekeeping had done all the room sweeps to get me into another room. I said OK, loaded my bags in my vehicle and spent the better part of the day with my realtor looking at local properties. Came back about 1pm and same clerk was still there and again told me he was working on finding a room to switch me to and that his manager would be in and to check back in at 5pm. This clerk also said he would definitely pass on my complaint to the manager so there would be no miscommunication. I returned back around 5pm and the clerk was gone but another individual (who later claimed to be the manager on duty) was there. He asked me what I needed and I told him my name and room number and explained I was supposed to be getting switched to another room. He had this blank look on his face and his demeanor was less then courteous. He asked me why I needed another room so I had to explain the whole blood stain story again. He said nobody had passed that info over to him and that he did not have a room to switch me to. I told him I had complained early in the morning and was assured I would get switched. This manager acted put out and got his cell phone out and started texted someone (guessing it was the day clerk). Few minutes passed and his cell rang and he went into his office and closed the door. Came back out shortly thereafter and told me matter of factly he did not have another room to switch me to. He then said "housekeeping is at your room now, feel free to go up and point out whatever". I told him I would not be returning to that room and said just charge me for 1 night. He then had the audacity to tell me he would be billing me for a half day since I did not check out by 11am!!! I told him I did not check out at 11 am as I was supposed to be getting switched to a clean room. No apology, rude as he could be so I requested a name and number of who I could call to complain. He went into the office and came out with a business card. I asked him if his name was on the card and he said yes. He told me to call the number on the card and I said I would be speaking to him since he was the manager on duty. So basically he was telling me that my complaint against him was going to be handled by him. UNREAL. So true to his word he charged my credit card for $56.25 even though I had paid in advance for both nights with travel points on my credit card. So I had to file a dispute with my credit card company for being double charged. I emailed this hotel the next day to find out who the General Manager was so I could file a legitimate complaint against the desk manager. I was given a name and email address of the General Manager who to date did not respond to my complaint. If you want to be treated like a paying customer avoid this hotel as they do not know what customer...
Read moreWe would not stay here again. Upon arrival, we waited in the lobby for approximately 10 minutes with nobody coming to the desk. We rang the bell a few times and when a staff finally emerged from the back, she was a bit rude and told us, "I was on the phone."
We stayed in a suite (rm 432) and it seemed fine and workable for the week. A couple of negatives in the room were that the shampoo and conditioner bottles were from the prior people and were half full (gross), the sofa bed was terrible (my girls slept on that and it had hard springs poking through). I will say the king bed was comfortable. Another tad annoying aspect was that they literally only had decaf k-cups in the room so we waited to have coffee at breakfast. Also note, they show Pantene shampoo in the pictures - they do not supply this. It is cheap shampoo so bring your own. Also, we actually ended up stopping into a store and purchasing an extension cord as there were no outlets to plug chargers into. We had to use the plug behind the bed. As far as housekeeping, some days we had wash clothes just tossed on the bathroom vanities (and not folded in display as they were upon arrival), and sand that compiled upon entering the room after beach days was never vacuumed.
Key cards never worked. Being on the 4th floor, it was quite irritating to get all the way up there and have your card not work. You then have to go all the way back to the lobby and pray someone is actually working at the desk.
Breakfast was hit or miss. 5 of the 6 mornings, the fresh yogurt machine was not working, the day it finally did, my one daughter got some and it ran out as my other daughter was trying to get some. The pancake machine was only in operation one day, the eggs were not great, and most days the biscuits were a tad hard. One morning particularly ticked me off as the attendant does not pay attention to anything. The coffee was out for most the time we were down there, which is irritating when you just want a dang cup of coffee (that you can't have in your room because they only stocked decaf). That morning the orange juice was also out for a while, and not to mention the latte machine was out of service most of our stay.
Pool was very clean and well maintained. We saw them cleaning it every morning. The bartender was also great! She was very nice and attentive. They had live music on Friday and Saturday, which made for a fun atmosphere.
Popcorn In the lobby was a nice touch. Each evening we came back from our day, the girls grabbed a small bag. Side note- I didn't ever see it cleaned out. During the day, it sat there dirty from the night before. They had cookies in the lobby only 2 nights, so don't bank on that, but again it was a nice little touch.
Upon leaving, we left a bag there and didn't realize until we got to the Sarasota airport. I kid you not when I say my husband and I tried calling repeatedly for 40 minutes and NOBODY ANSWERED THE PHONES!!! I had finally got someone to answer as my husband was almost back to the hotel via an uber. Talk about aggravation...
Read moreThe great scam: A partir de este mal momento exigire q me revisen la habiatacion para entregarmela y para dejarla. No me estafaran nunca mas Check your bank statements up to two weeks after leaving this hotel. they charged me $500 dollars for a spot in the carpet that they said I did. we are decent and responsible people, we would never do something like this, if this was the case we would have told the hotel staff. when we were returning the room keys we asked if they don't check the room and they said that they do after, that that is why we have to pay a deposit. they said they called me, but I don't understand if even when you say it wasn't you they still charge you. I said is the great scam, because there is no way to proof that you didn't do it. after this experience I will never leave a hotel room without being inspected with me present. they thought it was red dye and I have black hair, besides we used the room for a short time. and I'm almost sure they didn't even check if the room was ready and cleaned before giving it to me The terrible thing about this situation is that there is no way to prove my truth because you claim that they work very well and the host can be anyone. I am an extremely responsible person. If that incident had happened, I would have reported it myself and would have gladly paid for the damage, but I told them to check the camera to see who was the person who was there before, because according to the hotel it looks like red hair dye and I have the black hair also to check if there was previous supervision. When we arrived we had to wait more than an hour because the room was not ready (we arrived early) and we moved from the place; I was in the parking lot all the time, I went to the hotel several times to ask and I didn't see anyone going to check, I didn't know which room was but sitting in the park waiting and finally seeing which one I would have realized, like you they can assert that your staff is right? just because they say so. I really have no idea where the stain is, My great displeasure is paying for something that we were not responsible for. They made a call which appears as lost because I am not used to taking a number that I do not know but they were able to send a photo or an email or insist, although in any case I do not think there is a way to prove innocence in this case. In fact, we did not spend much time in the room and for me it will continue to be a scam because we are not responsible for any damage and it is better to blame a guest. that to the staff that works in it and for the hotel
Note: I also suppose that they saw that we canceled the next visit and they made assumptions, but the cancellation was because my husband works oncall and they told him that he would be on call because, frankly, we liked the hotel and its location, in fact we recommended it to a couple who spent...
