Whatever shmohawk left a 2 star review on here should be banned from google for life. My girlfriend and I just celebrated 5 years together in Siesta Key and had breakfast here both Saturday and Sunday morning. I looked at the food pictures and thought I was taking her to a fancy bourgeoisie spot. She was worried we were underdressed. We got there and everything from the atmosphere to the staff was relaxed and casual. The prices were cheaper than a place like First Watch. HOWEVER, the food was better than any breakfast we had in our six country visit to Europe. Service was phenomenal, food came out ridiculously fast and the presentation was gorgeous. We had crepes Saturday and Sunday we went savory. They had a fluffy pastry with goat cheese, leeks, and truffle sauce. My girlfriend and I made the mistake of sharing one and she was about to swing on my for the last bite. Unreal. We read the bio about the chef and his family and it made sense. This guy is from France and has decades of restaurant experience. We stuffed our faces and didn’t feel sick afterwards, which is typical of European cuisine where they use fresh ingredients.
Okay okay. I’m gonna stop before this review becomes longer than the Iliad but this dude is a true artist and he’s basically giving away food that you’d expect from a high end beach front place where they have a dress code (I wore mesh shorts and a Nike Dri Fit shirt) and charge $9 for an English muffin. Hurry before he comes to his senses and triples his prices (I’d low key still gladly pay it). I think I’ll just give up on breakfast now. Eating anywhere else would just be setting myself up for disappointment.
Would give 10 stars if I...
Read moreNOISY. Do not eat here if you have sensory sensitivities because this was the loudest place I've ever eaten. Not because of the people or the music, no the CHAIRS screeching on the floor every five seconds. It made the experience very much not enjoyable. Our sever was kind, however I asked for water without ice, and she comes back with a water with ice and says their water isn't cold without it, missing the whole point of me requesting no ice because my teeth are sensitive to it. Some people specifically want room temp water for that reason. The food wasn't great. The potatoes were so greasy. Grease juice flowing out of them with each cut. The toast was too thick and crunchy to bite into. The fritata dish had a vegan option, which I'll give them props for, but was questionable as to whether they had actually used the just egg as stated, or if they used eggs. Normally easy to tell the difference, but this had other veggies in it and the texture was off. Left with an upset stomach and not sure if it's due to the fritata actually being chicken egg or the grease from the potato. Thankfully the coffee was good, but I...
Read moreUpdate 10/22 Brought a family member and she was equally impressed with the variety and gourmet quality of the menu considering she was expecting a coffee shop. Server was super pleasant and we only wish it was open later. Go!
I was pleasantly surprised at this sweet café in the Adorable community of Gulfgate. A friend and I arrived at 12, They close at two.the server was perfect, wish I knew her name... The menu is large ,easy to read and laminated. Coffee was strong. Almond milk and half-and-half available There were numerous choices for those with alternate eating styles such as myself, gluten and dairy free, I had the rancheros eggs, for the first time, the black beans were scrumptious, (never thought I'd be saying something like that lol) .. Tortillas were good everything was perfect and beautifully presented ..see photo. My companion had eggs with hollandaise sauce and loved it I will be back and yet it's a drive from my house. PS. There was a hot and sour sauce that I purchased to go...$10 They make it and I think it will be great on my coconut shrimp ( Note to Cafe, offer nondairy creamers of...
