My friend and I came here with her boyfriend's daughter because we are new to Englewood and didn't know anywhere to eat at and the other place we were going to have lunch at was closed down. So the first thing when we came in here we were seated in the manager did nothing but stand there and gave us the worst look I could say it I've ever received I'm not sure if it was because how we were dressed or not but we had literally just came from the beach and it was pretty obvious that we spent the day at the beach as well. The lemonade and the fries were the only good thing here both of us ordered the stuffed peppers which tasted horrible my friends looks deflated and like it was old and she couldn't even eat more than two bites of it her french fries were good my French fries were good the salads were tiny she asked for a Caesar salad and got a garden salad with a little bit of Caesar dressing on the side. Throughout this whole meal the manager stood right next to our table on the other side of the arm rail pretending to wipe the counter is staring at us like she expected us to get up and go on our bill the entire time our waitress was very nice but even she came over and out of the blue just started asking us random questions about who we were and where we were from and if we were sisters or not and then would walk away and go straight to the manager and talk to her I don't know if this was just me assuming but it seems like we were a topic of conversation the entire time. On top of all of this I ordered a piece of key lime pie for dessert and the pie was the smallest portion I've ever seen starred with a tiny little speck of powdered sugar on it and like the end piece of a line. None of the food was good I think her boyfriend's daughter said her spaghetti was okay but she still only took a couple bites of it either way we paid her a tab and we left generous tips to the waitress because we're both servers and we always want to make sure we tip well but the manager and general ruined our entire experience there from start to finish and to make things worse the food was terrible we will definitely never recommend or return to...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant before, but my most recent visit was HORRIBLE..On Friday July 19th we went in for dinner and took another couple with us. The Hostess was to busy to seat us so our server did her job, we sat down and ordered our drinks in which all came out right, but our food on the other hand was ALL wrong. We ordered Shrimp Scampi and it was terrible, so watery. My wife ordered a Stromboli with just green olives and it came out with all BLACK OLIVES !!!!! My guests who were with us ordered all you can eat fish and chips which were dried out and over fried, his wife ordered grandmas meatloaf which was ok but the baked potato was bad. We told our server and she went to the hostess and nothing was done. I also heard a table next to me complain about their chicken being wrong and asked for the manager to come to the table and she refused to take the chicken off his bill and would NOT come to the table. They in turn tip the server and said that they would not be back, and neither will we. This restaurant must have changed hands because the food was not the same as it was when we were there. It is a shame because it wasn't even busy on a Friday night when we were there and all this happened, can you imagine if they were busy !!!!! Oh and did I forget to mention that there were ants all over our table when we sat down...
Read moreWe used to go to Stefano’s 5-6 times year for breakfast or lunch so I can’t comment on dinner. They used to have good food at good prices making it a good value. Nothing fancy, just a good solid mom-and-pop restaurant.
Our last visit was under the new management and prices have risen dramatically. Yeah, prices have gone up everywhere but relative to other places that have as good or better food yet still manage to charge less this place is simply over-priced.
During our last visit for lunch a while back, we had two sandwiches with fries (up-charge) plus two soft drinks for $3.50 each (if memory serves). The food was average. Certainly not great. With tip we walked out the door for $45. Value is in the eye of the beholder of course but this just wasn’t a $45 meal by any stretch. As the final straw, they wanted a fee for using a credit card. We threw down cash...
