This was one of favorite meals in our two weeks in Bradenton and Siesta Key. We ate in several nice places, but Sweetberries won our heart.
The young gentleman who took our order was named Carlos. He was so nice and polite. I ordered kind of a sandwich on the menu but asked for some changes. My wife ordered off the menu. We made our meals combos with the desserts and that was a great deal.
Carlos delivered our meal to our table. He looked at mine and said, "that's not right". He took it back, then came back and apologized and said it would be right out. He handled the situation like a true professional!
Both our sandwiches were EXCELLENT, and after a few minutes here comes Carlos with our cone desserts. The custard was AMAZING. Some of the best I have ever had.
Overall this was an excellent meal for a great price. I want to mention one more thing about a Carlos. We went up with $10 as a tip for him. I thanked him for his politeness and told him that young people with his people skills have a bright future. He impressed me again when he took the $10 and put it in the tip jar and said "I have to because we share tips here!"
I was a teacher/school administrator, my wife is in her 45th year as a teacher (she loves it). We have worked with many young people over the years. Not many make the great first impression that Carlos made with us. Carlos, you are a fine young man. I wish I could see you in 20-years. I bet you will be a...
Read moreI’m one of your regular customers in Bradenton and Gainesville Sweet Berries. I always order the paw vanilla ice cream for my 2 dogs and Hot fudge Sunday for me. At this time June 26 Monday evening they are not taking orders at the window which I understand. So, I told one of the guys.Sorry, I can’t order inside because, my dogs are with me and I know the dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant that’s why I’m ordering at the window. We will eat out here. One guy suggested to leave my dogs in the car. Then go inside the store to place my order. Then another guy said again. We can’t take orders at the window. Then I said “I know it’s common sense. I can read and understand the sign on your window”. When the guy suggested that about my dogs. It made me upset ! I can’t leave my dogs in a hot weather. Plus, I can’t leave my car running with air condition on and leave the dogs there while I’m ordering inside. Then another guy came told me again. We can’t take order at the window, So, the manager Carlos starts stepping in starts talking to me and wouldn’t listen to what I was saying. He just kept talking at the same time I was talking. He should at least apologize and ask me what was the problem? Carlos made my order. He didn’t tell me that there’s no more paw ice cream shape for the dogs. He gave the dogs a vanilla ice cream. There are times that customers are right and wrong. But this kind of incident was...
Read moreI was looking for an ice cream place in Bradenton that made flurries. Bradenton seems to have a lot of ice cream places but most of them are hard dip places. Sweetberries advertised concretes which is their version of a flurry/blizzard type treat. I'm not a huge fan of custard but after trying 3 other ice cream places that day looking for a flurry, I thought I would give it a chance. When we arrived, it was quite busy. There are multiple places to order so we ordered outside and waited. After about 5 minutes, I knew something was wrong. It was a Thursday night around 8pm so I assumed most people were getting ice cream and not bigger meals. As I stood and waited, no one was being called up to get their items. There were about 8 people waiting in front of me. Some of them just had scoops of custard (which should NOT take long to make). IT TOOK 33 MINUTES FOR THEM TO MAKE MY ONE CONCRETE. I'll say that again: 33 minutes. It seemed very inefficient how they were making the food and it seemed that phone orders were being prioritized above everything else. I was very disappointed with the wait and lack of organization. That being said, my concrete was...
