As a family we were excited to go to the Breakfast Nook since we loved eating here in the past. Today was the first time we went in awhile and were quite disappointed with the service we received. To be honest, I don’t even know where to begin. When the food came out, there was confusion from the waitress with whose food was whose. (We had to pass around food amongst ourselves because the waitress didn’t know where the food belonged.) Then, the side to a combo to my meal and my sister’s was wrong. (It appears that they switched the sides between our meals). So, the waitress told us to switch the sausage and bacon between the two plates. That was no big deal for us. But, after we had just agreed that we would switch the sides by ourselves, the waitress brought it upon herself to grab the sausage from the plate with her bare hands (touching other pieces of food as well). This is completely unsanitary. She left with the sausage still in her hands and less than a minute later, she came back with a plate with “another two pieces” of sausage. However, the sausage was cold. I believe that the sausage that she just touched was the same sausage she brought out for me to eat 30 seconds later. I didn’t get to eat it because I am pregnant and do not want to get sick; especially with COVID going around. Not to mention, we had to repeat ourselves multiple times to the waitress and she still didn’t get it right. My sister had to wait extra multiple minutes to get pancakes that were never put in and my other sister had asked for a refill on her drink and never got it. Also, everyone’s food was not the hottest. There was a lack of care and good customer service during our visit to the Breakfast Nook. It felt unsanitary and kind of stressful. It was not worth the money spent and we will not be going back to the Breakfast Nook again. I do not recommend this...
Read moreWe were so looking forward to trying this new place, we didn’t mind the extra drive to get here. Rather busy for a late Friday morning but since there’s indoor seating as well as outdoor seating, we were able to sit down right away. One waitress took our drink order immediately and was quick to deliver our coffee and juice but then seemed to forget about us. Dining room is somewhat overcrowded and we felt we needed to adjust our seating each time someone passed by. Another waitress noticed us looking around and asked if we were all set and we explained that we hadn’t placed our order yet. So then she left and we were left there wondering what happened. She finally came back with their little white mobile device that she seemed to be having some trouble with. Finally after she was done fiddling with it, she took our order. Since I ordered a-la-cart, she kept trying to cross reference my choosings to something on the menu so I had to keep explaining, that I didn’t want that. Took FOREVER to get our food and when I asked her on her way by if she could check on our order, she said, “Yes, I did.” So I had to follow up with, “And….?” This woman had absolutely no professionalism at all. All she could say was that they were really backed up in the kitchen, which didn’t make sense because the entire dining room had already been replaced with new customers. We were so hungry by the time our food arrived, I forgot to take photos before we dug in!! Our meals were not fresh off the grill either. Bacon and hash browns were lukewarm at best. Eggs Benedict was not great: English muffin was maybe 1/4” thick and it had a slice of cheap American cheese on it. Food was delivered as ordered which is why I’m giving a 2 star and not a one...
Read moreI'm sorry, but there's NO way I could give this place any more than 2 stars. Only reason they got 2 was due to the server. Other than that, it would have been 1 star. The food came out quick but it wasn't because they were on top of it. The potatoes were heavily greasy and must have been sitting on the grill for quite some time as they were rubbery as well. The Ice Tea was murky and tasted like they haven't cleaned the dispenser in ages. After my wife found a hair in her food, I discovered 2 more in mine and one still lingers in the back of my throat which induced me to throwing up. Biscuits and gravy were lacking much to be desired for as the gravy was almost translucent and covered the hard biscuit but somehow was underdone in the middle. The low standards of this place allows people to smoke at the tables outside which turned me off even more because I was downwind from the table next to us making it hard to enjoy anything. The view of live traps next to the air unit suggests they have an problem with animals invading their restaurant. We did not see the inside and was probably for the best just judging from what we experienced on the outside. My assumption of the kitchen would be that it is dirty as the rest of the place, if not dirtier. The lack of standards is astonishing. Not sure how they have maintained a higher rating this long as it was our 1st experience there and for 10 dollars a plate it was anything but exceptional. Needless to say, we...
