The Nest Eatery — Restaurant in Florida

I very rarely destroy a restaurant here, but I can honestly say, and every person at every table can say, that this restaurant has the worst service I have ever seen. So bad that there isn't even a 2nd place award. Which, I might add, is a shame because the food is always very good.

My kids take golf lessons at Osprey Point and have eaten at this restaurant many times so we decided to go as a family. Last month I took my wife and kids there for lunch and the service was horrible. We asked for water several times, as did the other 2 tables, and we lucky that it took 15 minutes for the glasses to arrive. We kept asking the waitress for a menu and it took us asking 3 times before we got them. Realizing that the service was going to continue to be subpar, we ordered immediately. The food did come on time and was excellent.

A couple of weeks ago I took my kids there without my wife who was out with friends. Again, 30 minutes before we got water. And, to make matters worse, I kept asking for a busboy to come to clean the table of 4 plates, 8 glasses, and all of the food. I decided to clean the table by myself (maybe they waitress should have shared her tip with me).

Against my better judgement, we returned this afternoon. We sat down and noticed there were 2 other tables outside already complaining that they had to order. After 20 minutes, and still no water despite me asking very politely 3 times, I went inside and asked the waitress. Meanwhile, 2 tables of people picked up and left because they weren't serviced. The restaurant was empty and had 4 people working there, but yet they couldn't even get water to a table.

After 30 minutes, and still not water, let alone getting menus, I went inside to speak to the manager, but he insisted we would get our water shortly. Shortly?!?!? We were already there 30 minutes, 2 tables of people left, and nobody was being serviced. The people working there were doing NOTHING. As I walked out, I noticed that a group of Little League baseball players who has sat down 25 minutes after we did, and the other tables, moved inside and were being served.

We decided to leave and will never return. No apology from anybody there for the wait, which I assume is commonplace because it has now happened to everybody there 3 times in a row.

I can easily say that this restaurant has the worst service I have ever experienced.

NEVER, EVER,...

First and foremost, I have to say the location is spectacular. It overlooks a golf course and on a beautiful sunny day you have water views and it is definitely the perfect spot to get drinks after a day of golfing. On the other hand, I have to give some very strong, constructive criticism. While I enjoyed my experience and the bartender being super nice, I did have my concerns. For a place that’s been around for as long as they have been and has a bar, a drink recipe book should be obvious. I ordered a peach sangria and the bartender didn’t know how to make it. I figured she was new so it didn’t bother me much but when she explained that she had been there for over a year, it was very troubling. Even though she wasn’t a bartender for the span of time she had been there, which is understandable, it doesn’t matter when you hire someone to bartend. Whether someone started a week ago, a month ago or even five months ago it shouldn’t be hard to make a drink if there is a book of recipes in place for anyone to use for consistency and accuracy. The food was good but I wouldn’t say it was worth the price that they are charging. I had an eggs Benedict that for $14 should’ve had way more on the plate than it had. All in all, it’s definitely a beer, wine, two ingredient mixed drink place...

Mission Bay resident, decided to try this place. We saw it driving by, thought we’d try. The service, horrible. Waited 15min before anyone even acknowledged us. Two other tables sat after us and they were acknowledged and served immediately. We said excuse us, to the waitress that came to the table to serve the two gentlemen that sat behind us about 10 minutes after we sat, to let her know no ones come to us. Her response ok, one sec and walked away. 6min after another waitress came to our table. I ordered my daughter’s meal, a cheeseburger with fries, they brought the plate as you see in my picture. Took 10 minutes for her fries to come.

We’re still waiting for our food. I can tell you so far I will never come here again. I’m sure to share my experience with the neighborhood. Very disappointing. Thought we could make this our regular spot close to home.

Food finally came. One note, flavorless. Frozen pre seasoned fries, Steak Bomb Sandwich, overcooked peppers, onions, mushrooms, and worse overcooked steak. My hubby’s burger, no flavor. I hope they read this review and fix their issues, come on, just opened! You should do better. My daughter didn’t even finish her burger, she’s an eater....
