The Philly Cheese Steak with everything (onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and jalapenos) is the best I have EVER had without question. That is if you like juicy and tasty thin sliced steak with creamy delicious homemade cheese sauce on, what I would classify as a born and raised New Yorker, an AMAZING wedge (you may call it a Hoagie, Grinder, or Sub). Don't worry, if you don't like Cheese Steaks they have a great selection of other delicious menu items as well as special offerings that are sure to hit the spot and fill you up!
If you enjoy smaller local food dives with great service and friendly staff this will be on your list of favorites, if it's not already.
Some helpful hints for first time visitors. Parking can be a bit tight. There is a small parking lot (around 4 -6 cars can fit) on the side of the builsing. This parking lot also has a disabled parking space with a ramp to the entrance, although it can be a bit tight. There is also free street parking out front. The inside seating area can fill up quickly through the lunch hours. There is also a nice outdoor uncovered eating area that offers umbrellas at each table. When ordering you will stand in line and there is a menu up above on the wall. Place your order, pick up a number, grab your canned soda from the fridge if you ordered it and have a seat. They will bring it to you. If you want to avoid a crowd or don't feel like sitting you can always call ahead and just run in and pick it up. Ohhhh yeah, they have two unisex bathrooms. One on the left and one on the right, you will know what i mean when you are standing there. I would recommend using the one on the left as the one on the right is VERY small and difficult to squeeze into and move...

The Good: -The best Philly and breakfast I have ever had -Friendly staff -Extremely fast service
And now the bad.
The Bad: -Incomplete orders
My personal experience with the bad:
Ever since the pandemic alot of things have been rocked up in alot of industries; especially food and we have all had to adapt. We are now more than a year into the pandemic and The Whistle Stop has yet to properly adapt to these times; I'm sure once they open the dining room back up these issues will become a thing of the past but as of right now I will no longer be eating there untill the dining is opened back up because of the countless mistakes of pickup.
On May 23rd around 11am I had placed my order and waited for someone to come to my car; once I paid for the order and double checked we were missing an item; it turned out the person taking our order didn't add our potatoes; we then had to wait and pay second time.
(At this point in time I was forgiving; people make mistakes it's only natural.)
Today June 6th around 12pm I decided to go back and order a philly, grilled cheese and fries.
This time I did not double check and drove all the way to Hobe Sound beach where I discovered the philly wasn't there but was on my ticket; so then I drove 15mins back to the Whistle Stop. The staff was apologetic but honestly after a mistake like that forgetting the main part of the meal I expected to have a portion of my meal refunded for the inconvenience.
I have decided that I will not be going back to the whistle Stop again untill they have reopened the dining area because they just can't seem to get...

I love this local spot! I have been coming to the Whistle Stop since I moved from Maine about 8 years ago. Throughout the years especially the past few there have been many schedule changes or just days they close without notice which has been the biggest bummer for my family. I was very sad to hear they closed a while back but, was supper excited someone else bought the establishment. The new owners kept many of the main menu staples and to my family we consistly got the same food and quality as we got from the original owners. Taste, service was the same and even a few items they took off the menu the new owner gave us the recipe for. My family enjoys the staff and Whistle Stop but, I did place an order on toast this past Monday and after showing up for my food it was closed with no signs or anything and google says open, I was very sad, I am not upset about the money I lost just that the Whistle Stop may be hurting and I wish them to get it together for they are amazing, so I am giving them a fair rating based on all my other experiences in the past. Pictures from one of our...
