We drove an hour to come here, because we heard the food is good. However, to start not over friendly! Mask seem to be a not thing here. The staff doesn't mask up here so if your uncomfortable it may make you very uncomfortable. Well I saw 1 kinda wearing it okay 2 now. The hostess needs training for sure. The sign when you walk in hostess will seat you make sure to walk farther then we did to be known your here to eat. They aren't clear on directions of seating outside. We said we wanted to here the entertainment shecsaid you'd have to sit at the nar area lol 1 table and then tbel bar which all was packed. We looked to the left and there was a bunch of empty tables and asked a server if this was part of the bar well gave us attitude too. Hostess had to roll shirts instead of speaking to us. FYI hostess the tables to the left you can her the bands too.. Outside is pretty cool! It seems if your not a local that comes here often they don't seem to acknowledge you here. Menus are supposed to be cleaned that doesn't happen at least to ours. Waitress no introductions just what you drinking. She warned up some when she took the order. I had the Devils old fashioned in a plastic cup which I despise but get its outdoors well I don't get it though wine comes in a glass unless it was plastic too. Lol doubt it! The drink was good! We ordered 10 wing appetizer 5-garlic sauce and 5-alarm. The 🐀 RAT trap with the dirty napkin isn't a preferred thing to look at while I eat. The entertainment Vic on Wednesday night was really good. 👌. The starter 5-alarm wing isn't very hot I would say it's more like med heat. When the food came out it looked great! The twisted fries are really good plum and tender. The fish/chips soggy on the one side but good flavor. The tarter sauce to sweet for me. The steak we ordered med it was rare. Chef know how to tell if it's the right temp we learn that in cooking school 101. The shrimp on it was cooked perfectly. The scampi sauce he said was one of the best. The coleslaw I didn't care for but my husband said it was okay. To me the slaw tasted mostly like sugar. Overall the food unfortunately was just okay not hot and a bit on the pricey side for what you get. The waitress who I still have no idea her name did a good job of checking on us and bussing her table. The issue is when you have half a steak and don't ask if you need a To Go box is lack of training. When she brought the check then she asked if we finally wanted a box kudos she got it. So dinner was 74 and change to me that's very questionable of price and what you get. She did say thank you and have a goodnight as she dropped off my CC and kept walking lol which is disrespectful and most hate. I have to say it's interesting to see the place we are at the staff walks food down the walkway to the place next door. Huh! Is it still hot by the time you got to the other building behind the bushes. They did sanitize the table when the guest next to us left. At least it had complimentary valet cause parking is not the easiest. The valet was probably the...
Read moreHave eaten here in one of the coves of Port Salerno, 4 times now, each with different menu items as my meal. When the weather is not too hot, and not too windy, sitting outside on the dock at waterside at tables, high tops or the bar, is a purely relaxing experience, and a rejuvenating manner in which to dine, no matter what your menu selections. Such was my experience on my most recent visit. The Bacardi and Cokes with limes that I started with were a little lighter than usual, but I attributed that to a cup size that encouraged too much Coke in the drink and not a light- handed bartender. I mostly enjoyed the Seafood linguini entre, which is a large portion. The Seafood, comprised of perfectly done well sized Scallops, Jumbo Shrimp, clams and some pieces of tasty white fish not identified on the menu, but probably one of the snapper species, were all delightful. The pasta was just a little past al dente, but tasty and excellent consistency and all the same density, meaning it was all cooked at the same time. All the above gets an A. The sauce was very mediocre, not disturbingly so, but just not up to the standards of the rest of the dish, nor the standards of this fine kitchen. It would be easier I believe, and certainly tastier, to quick saute a sauce while preparing the Seafood than use this premade, or possibly purchased, sauce. Nonetheless , it's a tasty dish overall that could simply be much better with a different type of tomato sauce. I don't believe this is a personal preference issue either, it's a matter of flavor and balance specific to this recipe. The Sunday late afternoon and early evening also provides for live music, positioned on a floating barge well secured to the dock and other nearby appurtenances. That music certainly added to the desirability of both the location and the overall ambiance and atmosphere created by the owners. We hope that this fine establishment can continue to thrive, grow and seek overall excellence as it does already achieve in so many categories. An obvious must-go-to restaurant with too many attributes to ignore, if you're within 50 miles of...
Read moreHad a chance to dine here for the first time since opening a few days ago. My comments are tempered by the fact that they just opened and that I have known, and been pleased the Two Georges in Boynton since the early 80's. First let me say the food was great. I ordered the Swordfish Rockefeller and I have to say it was done to perfection. My wife ordered the Grouper Oscar. She also enjoyed her entree immensely.
Now for the down side... we ordered some bottled wine (and yes "Wine Wednesday 50% Off" is still in effect). Unfortunately the wine I selected was not on special so I ordered what the servers suggested. The issue was that, although the restaurant was not extremely crowded, it took about 15 minutes for our wine (and some water) to arrive. The other issue was pricing. I had no problem paying in the low 30's for our entrees (such is the way the world now is) but the entrees came without a salad offering or even, when asked, bread. My entree included rice which, in all honesty, was quite filling. My wife's grouper filet, however, looked rather lonely without any accompanying rice or starch (It did have a few spears of asparagus draped over it). I'm hoping it was just an oversight that someone forgot to add a garnish.
Two entrees, with wine, came to $99 (before tip). The food certainly warranted the price although, as I mentioned, a side salad and/or some dinner rolls would lessen the sting.
One other note... since I love sushi. They have some sushi combos portioned and priced for either two or three people. They need to add a third for the single lone diner (I love sushi... my wife, not so much).
I have high hopes for this new venue! The food is certainly up to snuff. The issues with the wait staff I'm sure will be quickly resolved with some time and experience. The only issue that needs to be addressed ASAP is to be sure the plates come out of the kitchen fully garnished (rice or potato) and they really should include a side salad with a...
