Toscana Mare - Towers of Key Biscayne — Restaurant in Florida

Service was terrible. Everything took forever and they weren’t even that busy. We ordered our appetizer and entrees all together and after the appetizer came, 20 min later our waitress asked if we wanted to order more food. We told her we already did and she said she was going to get it. We saw her go straight to the computer to put the order in because she forgot. 30 min later our food came. We asked why it took so long and the waitress (who also was the manager apparently) told us they’re really busy with room service, a lot of tables, and Uber eats orders) she lied. She forgot to put our order in. My wife ordered the gnocchi which was okay but a very small portion. I ordered the spaghetti with clams and literally half of the clams were closed (you should never eat clams that haven’t opened during the cooking process). I asked her to take the meal off the bill and she said “you ate half of the clams so I’ll take off 50%.” I was appalled. I asked yo speak with the manager and she said she was the manager. Terrible service....

Toscana Mare was a breath of fresh air. We booked the Toscana Divino Experience with three-course prix fixe menu and were welcomed by the manager as if he knew us, and that made us feel right at home. Our server Luigi was very helpful in explaining everything that we had a question for and tended to our table really well- our meals came out real quickly, used plates were removed speedily and everything else just worked like clockwork. The manager and server even visited our table several times to ensure that we were doing well. Our appetizers, main course and dessert were tasty and at optimal temperature. My family has been coming here since they opened. We celebrated Mother’s Day, Easter brunch a bourbon tasting and other evenings for dinner. Our most recent visit was for Easter Brunch. Manuela took care of us and was wonderful. The food has always been consistently good as has the service and the prices are VERY reasonable for the quality of the food and the portion sizes - especially in Key Biscayne.
