Artisan Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Florida

I'm giving it one star because for me a dining experience starts with the waiter. Ate there yesterday with my friend who has lived in KB for decades, I live in Brickell and frequent the island. The waiter could not have been less professional and more rude, he starts by slamming the glasses and water on the table, never saying hello and gives me the menu first instead of my female friend. He then comes back and I say Hi in order to establish a friendly greeting, he asked are you ready to order, we said yes. He then says I can come back in two minutes and we repeated we're ready to order, he asks the same question again and we repeat we're ready to order. Never asked what kind of dressing I wanted and walked away so I had to stand up and tell him I would like my dressing on the side. I asked him what kind of dressing, he explained it was a chicken broth dressing, glad I did because I'm a pescatarian. The restaurant had two other clients only so he wasn't that busy. I didn't get up and leave because I was with my friend and didn't want to be rude. This guy needs to be trained in etiquettes and manners. I stopped in while waiting for my wife to have a medical procedure just across the street. The medical staff recommended Artisan and I'm glad they did. The food was extremely good. I'll definitely be back when in the area! The only small issue was the lack of follow up service as I only saw my waitress on ordering and on bill delivery and she forgot my coffee. Oh, and I was unable to get a dessert to go for my wife. The waitress said I could not get one to go... Kinda odd, but ok. A night after being thoroughly disappointed Novecento down the road, we had dinner at the Artisan Kitchen & Bar. It did not seem as popular, but our experience was dramatically better. Unsure of what I wanted to drink, the waiter brought out three beers for me to try without me requesting. We had the Parmesan fries at the waiter’s suggestion, and they were incredibly good. I highly recommend. We each ordered tacos, one fish / one shrimp. The tacos were too spicy for my wife, so beware of that. I thoroughly enjoyed them. We capped off the night with an ice cream sandwich brownie... it was one of the best restaurant desserts I’ve ever had. I highly recommend...
