I lived in PCB for many years, moved away and returned for Business Mtg. Favorite Steakhouse was Angelo’s yet was still closed for winter
Dining at Triple J 1st Time
I read the reviews for 2 Chain Steakhouses and decided try local one being Triple J
The reviews for Triple J were mixed ,yet 1 Local Guide recently hammered the restaurant for poor quality meat and service.
My expectation bar was set low before arriving however was hoping Local Guide review based on restaurant maybe not providing a freebie for dining their
The first thing I discovered was that there was not many folks dining in on Saturday Night at 8pm with closing at 10pm. Right off the bat, the waitress appeared to take my order. I instructed wished relax enjoy Crown then get into menu and ordering
What is worst slow or pesty service
After one drink from Crown Waitress back again asking about order. I asked if the restaurant or kitchen was closing early, which reply was no. This time I informed will raise my hand flag her down once ready order
The pushy service was being applied to the table next mine with customers getting their Appetizer & Salad at the same time with steak showing up say 5-8 minutes later. Of course, each time Waitress showed up to next table got asked again about my order
Ordered the Clam Chowder and honestly the best thing that happened in Triple J all night, very tasteful. I asked Waitress about Ribeye Medium Rare getting confirmed as the best steak in PCB.
The Ribeye showed up in about 8 minutes with one end raw | other end well done | middle acceptable. I ate the middle portion best I could as like the Local Guide had pointed out the meat had TOO MUCH GRISTLE
I could not swallow some bits steak so I just stopped. PCB is a Seafood City just avoid the Steakhouses and listen to Local Guides Reviews is my...
Read moreWe ate at the Triple J Steakhouse, and the food was amazing! When we first got to the restaurant, we asked the hostess for a nutrition menu due to my niece having celiac disease, and the young man stated he needed to get a manager. The manager came over and was very rude when she was walking to approach us, as she was shaking her head back and forth, saying, Well, you know we have baked potatoes, and started naming items that didn't have flour on the food. She said you can basically have anything with no flour. She approached us as if she knew everything about a gluten-free diet. We waited for 45 minutes before we were seated, which was fine with us. We waited, and we were greeted by the best waitress ever, and her name was Sydney! She was so sweet and energetic. She was able to look in the nutrition allergy binder and was able to confirm the items my niece asked for were gluten-free. As she was asking us our drink order, the same lady who was the manager, and her name is Janette, didn't say "excuse me" or introduce herself or anything; she leaned forward over the waitress to put the silverware on the table, and when she brought the appetizers on small plates, she only brought two, and my sister politely stated, "Ma'am, we will need one more plate for my daughter." The manager proceeded to say, Okayyy, in a very irritating voice, like she was frustrated with us. When she brought the third plate, she just slammed it on the table and didn't say a word. The lady really needs to work on her manners and how she approaches her customers and how she talks to her staff as well. But I was impressed by the food and...
Read moreI was optimistic about eating here because a friend of mine who lives in PCB highly recommended Triple J for ""the best steak in town."" Well...sorry to say my friend, that this visit was mediocre at best. We got right in because we were willing to sit outside. Very few people were seated on the patio in spite of the apparent wait to be seated inside. The street is fairly close to the private patio, so the road noise from traffic is a challenge to talk over & at times very loud. We started with a drink order ($8 wine glass) . The wine was good, however, the lipstick already on the glass (even visible through the dirt or limescale) was a bit of a turnoff. The server was prompt with a clean glass and a new beverage after I pointed out the lipstick. It is simple people.... WASH THE GLASSES. The silverware wasnt much cleaner. No plates with bread & butter...sit my dirty fork on the table surface to use again later...great...On to the meal::: my ""medium"" $32 ribeye was well done... but even that took a while to get, so starving, I did not send it back. The prime rib my wife got was good...but cooked like MY steak should have been...go figure.... not your usual prime rib, and we've had many. The whipped sweet potatoes had apparently gotten that whipping yesterday. Tasty, but an odd flavor ""sprinkled crust"" topping...not even gonna guess what that was. The wait staff was really trying , but it seems they are constantly apologizing for errors at the bar & from the kitchen.... anyway, $110 I won't be spending there again. Sorry guys, but ya blew...
