Waffle House — Restaurant in Florida

I have been to this location several times before when it was crowded and received excellent service and food that was cooked properly and tasted good.Tonight was a different story. I would even go so far as to say the waitress we had was the worst that I have ever experienced in my entire life. There were 2 waitresses and 6 groups/tables being served which is not as crowded as it usually is. Our waitress started complaining to the other waitress that they were short staffed and she was texting the employee that was supposed to be there to see when they would arrive. When she brought out the water and silverware I noticed that my fork did not look clean so I requested a replacement.She brought our coffee and did not bring cream. I waited 10 minutes (while our coffee was getting cold)before going up to the counter and requesting cream when she got a chance. She told me to wait at the counter while she got it out of the refrigerator and handed some to me.Then she brought parts of 3 of the 4 meals that we had ordered. The hash browns on one of the meals were burnt. 15 minutes later she brought out part of my wife's meal. Our sons had already finished thier meals by then. 15 minutes after that she finally brought out my 2 waffles(one was overcooked and one was undercooked) and stated that they only have 4 waffle making machines and that is why it took so long. She forgot my wife's hash browns so we requested that she take it off of the bill rather than wait any longer.She never did bring me a clean fork so I used my wife's since all 3 other guests in our party were already done eating. I went to pay the bill and she told me how much it was. I asked her if she took the hash browns off and she said yes and that thier prices are expensive. I wasnt questioning the cost of the meal I was just inquiring if she remembered to deduct the item she forgot. I felt bad for the other guests that were given the same wonderful service since she was overwhelmed handling 3 tables all by herself! I live close by but I will never return to this...

On our way home from a late flight we decided to stop and get something to eat before we got home. The eggs were undercooked and slimy, the steak was tough and overcooked. The waffles were pretty good. I asked for crisp bacon but got limp soggy bacon. Shortly after our food arrived one of the other servers looked directly at us, pulled out her phone and a speaker. She set it about two feet away from us and proceeded to blast her ghetto music so loud that we couldn't possibly carry on a conversation let alone hear anything else going on. We asked our server if they could move the speaker away from us. She said something to the girl that started the noise and she moved it about two more feet away. The noise they must consider music was disgusting and very offensive. I don't know who the manager on duty was but they should never have allowed anything like that in a public setting where they're supposed to be serving patrons. We usually never, ever stop at a waffle house because 99.9% of the time they are filthy and the food is terrible. We made an exception because it was so late at night and we didn't know what else would be open. We regretted it. The atmosphere, the service, and the food just reiterated why we never stop at waffle House. I don't know if this had anything to do with the fact that we were the only two white patrons in there and everyone else was black including all the servers and the cook. Were they trying to mark their territory with their disgusting noise as being from the ghetto and that we didn't belong? The sad fact is this is actually in a decent area next to a cracker barrel and some...

I LOVE waffle house but it seems lately it just isnt qwhat it used to be. maybe cuz I grew up goin to the one in Columbus Ohio and now Im in Florida or maybe Im just gettin old and taste is changing. It doesnt taste the same (its still good tho), the portions are a lot smaller and 1000% the prices have shot thru the roof. Hell its $5 for a dang waffle 🤦🏼‍♀️ Anywho, the customer service could be better, you can tell their kinda trying but they just dont care, you can tell that too!!! And its ALWAYS so busy here! I ordered 4 peanut butter waffles my last visit and literally there was a total of 10-13 peanut butter chips TOTAL between all 4 waffles. And my hashbrowns were half the size of a regular order. I was very bummed 😒 And lastly I ordered a large coffee with my order, it was carryout and it was the last of the coffee, it only filled my cup Halfway!!!!! If Im gonna pay $2.95 for a coffee, I would like it to be full. It was a half a cup, come on. Should have been half price. I would have waited for new coffee, my foodwasnt even ready... I had already been waiting over 30 mins anyway because you can NO longer call to place an order here. so you have to go there and order, sit (well stand, because there's never an open chair!) and wait..... Rant...
