Way Beyond Bagels — Restaurant in Florida

THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD IN A RESTAURANT. We sat down and waited and waited and waited for our food. We watched every table in the restaurant that came after us receive food (even people who came in 30 minutes after us). We asked the server what the situation was and she has no explanation at all; so we asked her if she could walk 20 ft and grab two of the bagels we ordered and put them on the table so we didn't starve. Over the next 10 minutes, we watched her serving other tables and we didn't even get the bagels. I walked out and left my wife and kids behind. I had to come back in to give my wife my credit card so she could pay for their meals if they ever came. The only response we ever got regarding our meals from the owner was her admonishing me for not having put a mask on from the door to the table; about 20 ft. At that point we all left. Update: This review is for Boca location. Del Ray is efficiently and appreciatively better customer service for which I make the drive. Great Bagels and NY Appetizing specialties. Put your game face on before entering this New York/Florida experience. A combination of aggressively Entitled customers, overwhelmed and undertrained counter staff and you are almost assured a memorable(?) experience. This appears to be a family run shop and the family is accommodating. The deli counter staff needs a manager dedicated to that function. I’ve watched two young men holding a conversation while packing my cream cheese order a foot away from both their faces. No we don’t have lite vegetable cream cheese, fortunately another employee stated we have lo fat. Ordered a toasted cinnamon & raisin bagel with an ice coffee. Heather, my server, took 15 mins. to bring the coffee. Too busy socializing with customers. Finally bagel arrives, doesn't look like cinnamon raisin & isn't toasted. She brings it back to the kitchen. Another 15 mins.to get another that's toasted. Almost no cream cheese on this one. Bagel is tasteless. I signal after another 10 mins. for her to bring the check. 15 mins. more on her cell phone showing another booth of customers her photos before she takes money & check. When I get the check with change, nothing else said. Called me sweetie & baby throughtout. I could easily be her mother & am a doctor (wearing scrubs). Lousy food, bad service, kid more interested in socializing then working. Found her disrespectful... I'm not her sweetie or baby. One star is because it seemed clean.
