First off, let me start by saying that I never ever leave reviews and was hesitant to leave this since this is a fairly new restaurant.
The 5 of use were seated within 10 min during 12:00 brunch time this past Sunday. Upon sitting down we were brought water right away. From that point forward, it was a complete nightmare. Our waitress didn’t come to take our order for 20 min. This is after she took two other orders of people who came in after us. She only came to our table because we flagged her down. Otherwise, we would have been completely ignored for a longer time. When the waitress took our order, we mentioned that my daughter is allergic to sesame. She ordered the chicken Shawarma sandwich with no hummus or tahini. We didn’t get any food for the next 30 min. Once the food started arriving. They brought out only two of the five meals first and after another 10 minutes, proceeded to bring out two more meals. Then, they brought out two dishes that were not correct and had to be sent back for the fifth person. It wasn’t until 30 minutes after the four of us began to eat. Did the last person get his meal My daughter began to complain that she felt as though her throat was closing, and that she was having an allergic reaction to sesame. Upon checking her sandwich, there was no tahini or hummus in there, but yet she had a severe allergic reaction and had to run out of the restaurant. Throwing up and feeling as if she couldn’t breathe. At this point, we were all very frustrated and upset, and the last person wasn’t even done eating since he got his food way after the rest of us. No one came around to refill our waters once. The manager came over and I explained to her that the service was lacking and she proceeded to offer us dessert. Honestly, we couldn’t wait to get out of there since we were there for about an hour and a half at that point. Not to mention that my daughter Was suffering outside with her allergic reaction due to their negligence in. Not taking proper precautions for food allergies. I didn’t even have a chance to explain the situation to the manager because she was in such a hurry to take care of all the other issues that the surrounding tables had. This was by far the worst experience our family has ever had at any dining establishment. We want to make sure that everyone is made aware of not just their lack of service but lack of care for food preparation of those with allergies. Thankfully my daughter was better today but the whole rest of the day she was suffering. I am saddened by this because I love this type of food and was so excited to finally have a place that serves middle eastern food by my home. For breakfast, Landwer requires guests to order at the front desk before being seated, which feels like a fast-food setup rather than a sit-down restaurant. This process was clunky and impersonal, with no chance to ask about the menu or specials without holding up the line. My dinner visit didn’t have this pre-order system, but the experience was marred by issues with my order. Most aggravating during the breakfast visit was the request for a tip at the front desk during payment, before any service was provided. This felt presumptuous and awkward, as I was expected to tip without experiencing the service quality. While the dinner visit didn’t involve pre-tipping, the service issues made the overall experience equally frustrating. Service was minimal both times. Breakfast took about 15 minutes to arrive, and dinner around 20. There was no follow-up to check on the meal or refill drinks. During dinner, my dish was returned twice due to errors, and in the end, I didn’t eat anything, which was incredibly disappointing. The ambiance didn’t help either visit. The dining area was clean but stark, lacking warmth or effort to create a welcoming atmosphere. For a restaurant charging sit-down prices, I expected more than a transactional, cafeteria-like vibe. After two disappointing visits, Landwer’s service model falls short. The breakfast pre-order system is inefficient, the pre-service tipping is off-putting, and the service failures, especially the dinner mishap, don’t justify the cost or experience. Read moreIt’s truly upsetting to have to leave such a negative review as i come here at least 2-3 times a week. The first few times I went here. Everything was great now it’s extremely disappointing.. The food is very good. The service is incredibly inconsistent and they have some very nice lovely employees and some really rude ones.. There is constantly a service problem. I just waited 25 minutes for a single egg sandwich order, and I watched people who came in after me and placed their orders, get their food prior to me. When I brought this to the woman’s attention who seemed to be the manager the server as well as the cook instead of being apologetic and trying to make the situation better she got rude and took an offensive attitude with me trying to defend the situation rather than taking ownership of it and handling it. By telling me she Didn’t choose to carry two orders at once that would’ve been a whopping one bag in each hand instead she chose to bring one order and that’s why my order was delayed even further…
They are constantly understaffed, and there is a constant problem with consistency of the size of the food. I order the same things all the time for me and my family and sometimes the food is half the size that it was the time before, or they completely forget the salad dressing for salads, etc.
I have brought issues up to two different assistant managers attention, and nothing seems to get resolved there. This is a shame because the food is really good and once in a while when the service is good, the place is great.
