Louie's Italian Ice — Restaurant in Florissant

I have been to this place a total of 3 times. Today I went and had the worst experience ever. This is not a kid friendly place at all. I went last night there to get an Italian ice by myself and the owner was as nice as can be. First off Today I go with my toddler, baby and sisters and we had to wait in our car because there was a hand written sign on the window saying that he went to get dinner even though we went during the business hours that were posted. Secondly and we decided to stay there and eat our Italian Ice. We were the only customers inside. Mind you he only has high bar stool chairs for customers to sit on. My toddler didn't want to sit that high so she was playing on the floor with her barbies. She did go under the table and then the owner came over and said that he doesn't want her to play under the table because he already had a "white little girl" fall and hurt herself on the concrete. But he didn't stop there. He said I have been trying to be patient with you'll but you need to watch your children and this is not a jungle gym. No one said it was a jungle gym, my daughter was simply playing with her barbies (again we were the only customers in the building) while we ate our Italian ice. You have families coming to your new business and if you didn't want people to bring their young ones you need to put that on your website. He also said usually people just grab there Italian ice and go. Well we didn't want to go because its hot outside and I brought my 2 kids in there with me to support your business and waiting in my car while its 90+ degrees outside while you decided to go get some food. I don't understand why you have tables in there if you are expecting people to just grab n go. We tried to give a suggestion that maybe in the future he should put some smaller tables or something there so that little kids can have somewhere to sit or somewhere were families can sit. He said he does not plan on doing that. I would HIGHLY discourage you to go to this unfortunate place of business especially if you have young ones. The owner needs a reality check and hopefully he learns how to have some compassion for mothers that bring out there 2 kids in the heat to support his business. I would give...

Today, we had the pleasure of visiting Louie's Italian Ice, a new Italian ice shop located in Florissant, MO. Upon entering, the owner was attending to another customer, who was sampling various flavors. The owner was very patient and answered all of their questions. It was then our turn to experience the delightful flavors of Louie's Italian Ice. My daughter inquired about the availability of lemon, as it was depicted on the wall but not listed on the menu. The server clarified that lemon is indeed a flavor option. Our family opted for lemon, green apple, and chocolate Italian ice. I typically do not prefer chocolate, but the chocolate Italian ice was quite satisfying. The green apple flavor was somewhat lacking in intensity for my taste, but still enjoyable. The lemon flavor was perfectly balanced, neither too tart nor too sweet. We selected the 4oz size, which was ideal and particularly refreshing. It was $4 for each so I think it was fairly priced. As mentioned above this is a new shop that just opened so right now it’s just straight forward. They do have an area to sit down and enjoy your desserts. 1st experience I was with my spouse. It was so good we had to bring our 3 kiddos with us the 2nd time. The Gelato is so creamy and rich ! We've tried the chocolate (has little chocolate chips in it) Strawberry , and pistachio. The flavors did not disappoint and the pistachio is soooooo good!! The Italian ice is also very good. The texture is the best I've had. So soft and melts in your mouth. We've tried the blue raspberry, lemon, chocolate, and Strawberry. It's very refreshing! Especially on a hot summer day. The Strawberry Italian ice threw me off IN A GOOD WAY. When you try it it's like dang , that's good lol it's a cute little spot and the owner is nice and very welcoming. He remembered us when we can back the 2nd time . I absolutely loved that and scored extra points with me !
