Not Just a Burger — Restaurant in Flowood

After 3 visits, I have come to the conclusion that I really love Not Just A Burger in the outlet mall in Pearl. Handmade patties, fresh ingredients, great service & staff, fair portions, lots of flavor, and very affordable.

Their signature “NOT JUST A BURGER” burger is brown gravy, grilled onions & mushrooms, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and pepper jack!!!! It’s flavorful & extremely messy!!!! This makes it pretty dang perfect!!!

The “Blazin Burger” has jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. It was $10.99 with fries & a drink.... and was cooked perfectly.

The Shrimp Burger is also a great choice! You could distinguish between the awesome flavors in the surf and the turf. The beef was perfectly cooked, and the shrimp were HUGE and very flavorful. I mixed up a Louisiana Hot Sauce and mayo concoction for it, but it would have been awesome without it, too.

If I could give six stars I would. I went here expecting a typical burger experience. What I got was so much better. From the moment I walked in, the owner was so welcoming and pleasant! She chatted with us like we were old friends, it was so refreshing. We got two burgers, fries, and fried okra. The food came out pretty quick, which was great because we were very hungry! So, how was the food? Absolutely fantastic! The fries were fluffy, hot, and well seasoned. The fried okra was spectacular! Usually, when I order fried okra, they end up being mushy and not great. These had an amazing cruch and were seasoned to perfection. Truly some of the best I have ever had. The burger was a monster! This wasnt just some frozen generic burger, it was a well seasoned burger with the perfect amount of toppings. Everything about it was awesome! Ok! The food I must say tastes great, my only complaint would be the fish. I ordered a fish plate and it said five pieces of catfish. Disappointed! Well it’s really five pieces of pieces. It’s more like fish nuggets to be honest. They are half of a half of fish filets. For the price I would expect whole catfish filets. Next, as a veteran the cashier said they do have military discount. Yes and no! More so no... When asked, they said yes, but actually it’s on the lowest ordered product not the entire meal. I served my country, not some of the country or pieces of the country - my entire country. Finally, they ask cash or credit.
