I have now been 8 times. I was going to give a three star review, but my latest trip in lost the third star. And listen, they’re severely understaffed right now. So I get that. I’m ok with longer than normal wait times as a result. Regardless, I’ve had a few excellent experiences! But I’ve mostly had mixed to negative experiences. My review will be lengthy.
I think the training is lacking a bit. There are one or two all-star waitresses that if I get them, I know everything will be great! But when it hasn’t been them... I’ve ordered menu items as shown on the menu with no extras, no changes, nothing special and yet the ticket is written very strangely and trying to overcharge me for “extras” when it should be a flat fee. I’ve had them get far too easily confused my simple requests. And I’ve had hard times getting what I want (a thing of lemons, a glass of water, an extra thing of silverware... all simple things that seem to never show up even after multiple requests).
I’ve had them not be trained to make specialty coffee drinks, get my order wrong, and then when I ask for my order to be corrected I’ve had it take 20 more minutes for my food to come back out and it be the EXACT same it was before I asked for it to be corrected. I even ordered crepes the other day, the Swedish crepes, and somehow they brought me a tiny little thing and said “they put the order in as a side dish.” Like... what? I’m here for lunch and it’s the only thing I ordered and I want a third of the food that’s already not very filling? Then they rush to get the rest of my crepes out to me and they rush it too much because the crepes were severely undercooked. I’d rather wait another minute or two for my food to be right. A similar thing happened with an order of corn beef hash. They forgot the order, then rushed to get it out and undercooked it.
This isn’t even all that I could say. I have had, I think, two or three 5 star ihop experiences there. But out of 8 trips, it’s not looking good. The busier they are the more you should avoid going. If you can get there when it’s quiet, you should be fine. Get lucky with your waitress and it’ll be excellent.
I will continue to go because we don’t have any better options around here. I severely hope that as they get more wait staff the wait times, the order accuracy, and the overall experience improves. I really hope the best for this place. But right now, just be aware that it’s entirely possible (or even likely) you’ll have a sub-par experience or three for every good one you have, without so much as an apology for your trouble before you leave. I will revise my review if things get better. I...
Read moreToday, I visited this IHOP for the first time ever. I'm from out of town, but there were two other relatives with me. We waited in line so long to be seated and there weren't many people there, but it was this only one Caucasian young lady that was so nice, hospitable, very friendly, helpful and her smile could light up any room. Her name was Shelly. We watched her as she tried her best to get several other people before us seated, take their orders, all the while there were other workers that were passing thru with no smile, no greet, and very unpleasant attitudes. She was doing everything and also running the register at times, but she kept that smile and attentiveness with everyone. She really needed help, but it seems as no one tried to help her, but she still worked hard and tried her best to make every customer satisfied. I would give her as a worker a 5- star. The company should raise her pay and show her appreciation for her hard work and sacrifice as she does the the job of four to five people. You don't find great customer service at many restaurants these days like this young lady gave today, especially with the pay that she works for. I would say she isn't valued at all for her abilities. This company needs to do better and get her some help in there to help her. My experience today wasn't good as for as the company, but bc of workers like her, it make you forget about yourself and realize that we must show grace to all mankind. Sometimes people need encouragement and to let them know they are appreciated genuinely. Shelly, we appreciate your very kind soul and for showing your strength during a time when you could have walked out, bc you went above and beyond and we thank you!! This review is for her, the employee at this IHOP only.. Please give her a big raise because she deserves...
Read moreMy family visited this location last weekend. We placed our order shortly after being seated. 30 minutes after ordering our food, our waitress comes to me to let me know they are out of the smokehouse platter I ordered. It is frustrating that it took them 30 mins to figure that out. I wasn't upset though because stuff happens, and the waitress sold me on the sampler platter, it looked delicious. When they brought out my food a little more than 30 minutes later (a full hour after ordering) it was missing the ham. I asked if she could bring that out to me. She said she would. She comes back and informs me that the cook made a mistake and gave me 2 extra pieces of bacon instead of ham, she has an empty plate and insists I give her the 2 pieces of bacon off of the plate that I'm eating in order to get my ham. She proceeds to say that it will be thrown away. Also, only half the food was delivered to our table and it took an additional 10 minutes for the rest of my family to get their food. She had an attitude when we asked for extra syrup because it was brought out in little cups. I have never been so unhappy with how a situation was handled at a restaurant. We had to wait for such a long time for our food, it was brought in stages, they made a mistake and were rude about me wanting it corrected. I didnt bother to complain to the manager because the manager looked like he came in on his day off and If I hadnt seen him talking to employees I would have never guessed he worked there, much less was in management. The food is overpriced and the staff is less than professional. I know we will not be returning to the location again. This was the 2nd attempt to eat here. I wont overpay for bad...
