Lotus 8 Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Folsom

I'm what you can call a Chinese food connoisseur. I've grown up my entire life eating chinese food so I am pretty picky. The best Chinese food in the folsom, granite bay, roseville area is Lotus 8. Trust me I have tried everyplace in these 3 cities and nothing comes close to the quality at lotus. I've gone there so much they know me by name and I've gotten to know Chi and Lina which are always the one who's working the front. I've read through some of the negative reviews and most of what was commented I didn't experience with the exception that I agree the eggrolls aren't that great. I know some of you have a difficult time ordering so here are my top choices of stuff to order so please try them out and tell me what you think. Beef Chow fun with blackbean sauce, fish filet clay pot, honey walnut pawns, salted egg yolk prawns, roasted duck, braised e-fu noodles, Yang chow fried rice, sizzling black pepper beef, salt and pepper pork chops and steamed soy fish. I really wish they had more seafood options but if you buy clams, crabs or lobsters and drop it off to them or bring with you. They can make it any style you want! I guess because of the demographics in the area, they don't get a lot of requests for seafood so they don't carry it in stock. Well, again, I love this place. Tell Lina or Chi that -- Trung told you to try this stuff. Maybe they will give me a discount next...

Sharing this review similar to Gene. I was from the Bay Area and I still think they have mostly good Chinese resto in Bay Area and the Canada cities. I bought their house fried rice and I agree with Gene K that the rice was bland and dry. They put in two shrimps(overcooked) couple of large beef, chicken & BBQ slices. They also put two small cuts of lettuce, some very cooked green onions and no green peas ( their style). The BBQ pork tasted stale to me. The squid they put was tough. I don’t know why they don’t advertise their Fujian fried rice on menu coz they’re good. I would cut the BBQ tiny squares so the staleness taste won’t appear. I would also cut other meat smaller. Even though they’re a Chinese resto, I hope they could do an Indonesian Nasi Goreng fried rice on menu or other Burmese/ Asian style food on menu, they’re good. Two stars because of the...

I just tried to call the restaurant twice to complain and see how long for Christmas eve dinner. I ordered around 6pm - at 8:00pm so another 45 min is a bit ridiculous on their part - they gotta quote times better than that which they close at 9pm - I called again the next day and they have a message that Lotus 8 is shut down for health code violations!!! #DoorDash #Dashers were getting their orders backed up or being pushed to the very last - had 10 DoorDash Dasher waiting and more showing up and kept waiting for over an hour which some DoorDash Customers cancelled their huge orders!!!
