I tried to take 4, 20 years olds for a nice dinner outside by the lake. Chucks staff took food orders from my kids and then asked them for their IDs, they didn’t have one…because we were there to eat dinner and not drinks. The staff had no idea that the kids were there with me, age 48. We were “granted permission” to eat our burgers and were then watched/stalked by the “security” that should have been at the door when we arrived, but weren’t. If we would have been carded by security at the door, we could have made a better decision and gone somewhere more “kid” friendly BEFORE we ordered food. It seemed like wee wee ok because there were several kids and tweens running around when we walked in. When we were done eating, we were followed and harassed by a man wearing a “Chucks” shirt on our way to our car. It was a horrible experience. I’ll never go...
Read moreDecent food at a prime location. Stopped by for lunch after walking the lake path and ordered cheese curds and two salads. The staff was friendly and the food came out quick, but left a little to be desired. Just be aware that Chuck’s is a seat yourself and order at the bar style of restaurant!
Cheese curds were absolutely amazing, and the ranch dressing was also stellar. If the rest of the meal had followed suit Chuck’s would easily be getting 5 stars! Both salads were just “okay.” Basically just lettuce, some chicken, and dressing on the side. A little bit uninspired but still had decent flavor.
If you’re coming in from a day on the lake, or stopping by after a nice walk around the Lake Geneva lake path Chuck’s is a good place to have a decent meal for a good price. I’d stick to more pub style fare, i.e. burgers, and leave the salads for...
Read moreI am going to have to agree with others about the rude service. I ordered a lobster roll. I was told it was real lobster, but such was not the case. It's definitely chopped imitation lobster (seafood salad) and salty as hell. When I brought our baskets to the bar, the bartender asked, "How was everything?" I said the sandwich was awful. The fries were cold. She just turned around and walked away. No apologies, no offer to refund, or replace and ignored me like I wasn't standing right there. That was the second strike. Bad food + Bad service! They also allow animals and there was a customer there today with a huge mastiff that was barking, snapping and lunging at people walking on the path. So, whatever Chuck's was in its 1950's heyday is not the Chuck's today. Three strikes in one visit. Steer clear...
