Waterfront Restaurant at The Abbey Resort — Restaurant in Fontana-on-Geneva Lake

‼️ ❌ 🚨 Garbage food and even worse service! The hummus appetizer was pathetic. It was comprised of gross fried pig skins and stale dry pita. The hummus itself was not bad but undoubtedly store bought. The fish tacos were gross and cold. The salmon entree was overcooked and slathered in a bright green sauce that looked ooze from Ghostbusters. The fries were quite tasty. Kid’s mac and cheese was old boxed Kraft not even cooked in the pot just microwaved.

The hostess Eleanata was polite and helpful and our server Jorge was fairly decent though he forgot a few things including utensils, no big deal. The two main issues here, aside from the incredibly underwhelming food, are the cleanliness and the rudeness. The place was an absolute pigsty with multiple tables covered in dirty plates and food and napkins and garbage on the floor that just sat there for a full hour while no one did ANYTHING at all as a group of 5 employees just stood around endlessly chatting. We actually had to clean our own table upon arrival and the high chairs were so disgusting I wanted to have my kids sit anywhere else but I cleaned them myself. They were filthy. The manager Chamaron? stood around just texting on his phone when he could have been cleaning, helping his servers, doing anything else. He was far from managerial. But the worst by far - make sure you steer clear of Jackie she has a colossal attitude problem. Definitely belongs in another industry. Beyond incompetent, aggressive and RUDE.

We love The Abbey and have been many times, and have been to Waterfront many times but will NEVER go back to this poorly run dump of a restaurant. NOT...

Their food is good, the people there are nice. I went in for the all you can eat wings, which they come out plain and we sauce them ourselves from a table with a generous variety of sauces. I thought this was a pretty neat idea. They did a really good job with the sauces as well, as all the ones I tried (around 8ish) were all very tasty.

However... I became suspicious the second I learned there was no buffet table of wings for the "all you can eat" deal and we had to order each batch through our server...

When they say "All you can eat _", they definitely pull the age old trick of dragging their feet when getting more food out to the customers. Even if you put in an order for another plate immediately when you get your wings, you're still waiting till well after you finish your plate before you get the next order.

It's pretty obvious when a business is trying to draw customers in using shady business practices and this all you can eat wings was one of them.

I hope Waterfeont sees this post and decides to do something about this as I did have a good time during my stay at The Abbey Resort and look forward to staying there again regardless if I decide to ever take friends and family to the Waterfront again.

As of now, I would only recommend people to visit Waterfront if they are going there for regular meals and not any all you can eat "deals". I would give the Waterfront four stars, possibly five, if they didn't pull the b.s. that they...

Went for a weekend with my boyfriend. Staff is very friendly, the installations are good and rooms are very nice. I guess this place is more for families, if you want a getaway with your significant other, I don’t think this is the right place for that. At least in the winter, there is a pool with hot tub that is very nice and we can barely use it. We made 4 attempts to go and we had to quit because it looked like a summer kids camp. Kids playing, screaming, hot tub full of kids playing with a ball.... we were expecting to have a little time to relax and we couldn’t find it. Pool closed at 11PM and our last try was at 10:30 PM, still packed with kids! I’m not disagreeing with that, but the hotel should have more consideration and think about putting at least a couple hours free of kids. For example, 9Pm to11 pm just adults and give us the chance to relax and enjoy the installations. I wont recommend this place for a romantic time if that’s what you’re...
