Thai Garden BBQ — Restaurant in Fontana

I have no idea how this place received a 4.4 rating. Really, I enjoy Thai food. I enjoy all good food and I don't easy rate food establishments this low unless they are this bad. Please do your self a favor and pick another place. I'll tell you a few things regarding my experience:

I came here on a Saturday with a party 7. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but good enough to not feel packed. The waiter was not friendly but did his job efficiently, considering he was the only one.

I ordered tom yum shrimp, pad thai, drunken noodles, pepper beef and cheese wontons.

The broth of the tom yum had no body. It was just salty and limey. You are going to say, isn't that what is supposed to taste? Kind of. See, it didn't have any galangal, at least not visible. The soup was really clear. It appears they dumped a bunch of salt and lime to mask the weakness of the broth. This seemed to be consistent across all their dishes. The shrimp was not fresh. I actually left a few shrimps in the pot. Who does that? Well, you would if your shrimp taste off.

The pepper beef had so much liquid on it, it almost appeard that it was boiled. Flavors were weak. Almost no seasonsing.

Drunken noodles where almost white. I mean, they almost tasted like nothing. I had to order fish sauce. I put fish sauce, soy sauce, and chilli to try to give them some flavor.

The saving grace of all the dishes were the pad thai (which was overly sweet, but edible) and the cheese wontons.

The dining room had a table or two in the back filled with clutter. The tables were sticky. The restrooms were dirty.

I try not to be this harsh on my reviews, but I do not understand why this place has such a high rating. Maybe because food is so cheap? Hasn't anyone ever tasted good Thai food before, though? Maybe I caught them in a bad day, but... I doubt it. Take your...

We came to eat lunch twice in a week. The first time we order the tilapia and we asked for little or no spice if possible. It came out super hot. We told the waiter and he said peppers are hotter during the winter. We couldn't feel our lips but we decided not to make a fuss. The the seafood soup was good.

Today we decided to give it another try. Food was served Luke warm, almost cold. It wasn't busy and it was just two tables including us. Waited forever for refill on drinks. The seafood soup was cold. And even after they took the soup back and brought it back it was just a little warmer. The server is really sweet and humble. But kitchen staff needs to work on the temperature of the food and the difference between mild and spicy. Unfortunately, we will...

My kids wanted to eat Thai food and since we are far from our usual spot in LA now we decided to stop here since they do have some outside seating. The seafood soup was ok, the steam rice was very mushie since it was going to get mixed in with the soup we didn't ask for another. The thai tea was too watery for my taste the guy waiter was very rude and their condiments looked old. Also we were surprised with a $5 dollar service fee, they charge this to parties of 5 or more. Overall we will not be returning due to their rude customer service, he even ignored me when I asked him for a pen to sign the credit card receipt, guess he wasn't in the mood to serve...
