Surcheros is a chipotle-style spot that features a fresh take on the Tex-Mex that you really need to check out. They are a fast-casual spot (think Chipotle) where you walk in and order your food. The food is made right in front of you as you order so you know it’s fresh! They have all the standard fixes with a few twists. One major twist that’s unique to this spot is they will grill the veggies in their signature vinaigrette before they throw it on your meal. I also tried their queso and chips and I have to say they got some awesome queso and salsa. Price wise they are in line with what you’d expect. I ordered their Loaded Chicken Bowl with chips queso and a water cup for around $15. My bowl had black beans, southwest rice, chicken, grilled corn, jalapeños, and their chipotle ranch. The restaurant itself is cozy, and clean, and happens to be located in the plaza next to Lowes Foods on Forest Drive. I really dig this spot and think it’s a great addition to the food scene. I plan on returning any time I want that Chipotle feel but I want a bit more for my money.

I ordered online. Picked up my order in person. The restaurant was extremely clean and organized. Not too many dine ins. Staff were busy but the one person I spoke to was polite and helpful. This was my first time trying this place. I was impressed. I get to work and open my food. My burrito is split down the middle but I was not disappointed, I thought wow it’s stuffed full. The disappointment set in as I ate the burrito and found that I had a horribly disproportioned amount of rice versus meat. I did not order extra rice but I also did not order extra meat. Out of the whole burrito I had maybe 5-6 small bites that had a piece of meat in it. 75% of it was rice, 10% was meat, and the rest was the lettuce and mushrooms I asked for. I threw away the whole bottom portion of the burrito because it was only rice and sour cream left. If I order again I will have to do it in person and pay more for more meat and request less rice. It’s worth a try if you have never been.

Surcheros serves up fresh food, but honestly, it left me underwhelmed. The ingredients are clearly high quality, but the seasoning is seriously lacking. I get that they’re aiming for a healthier vibe, but a little salt and pepper wouldn’t hurt. Funny enough, the chips for the chips and salsa had more flavor than my actual meal. It’s also on the pricey side, which makes the lack of seasoning even more disappointing. That said, I did enjoy the strawberry, cherry, and apple cider vinegar drink—it was refreshing and had a nice balance of flavors. If you’re big on clean eating and don’t mind mild flavors, this might be a good spot for you. But if you’re looking for bold flavors, you might leave feeling like something’s missing.

Our team was celebrating a special occasion, and I noticed that Surcheros had recently opened, so I decided to give them a try. With my catered event just a few days away, I visited the restaurant to place a personal order before committing to a larger catering order. The staff on duty that day was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also had the pleasure of meeting Fantasia, the manager, who assured me that my catering order would be handled with care.

After placing my order online, Fantasia followed up with a text to confirm it was received, and I also received timely updates via email from the catering system. On the day of the event, the owner, Andrew, personally delivered and set up our order—a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more special.

Not only was the food fresh and delicious, but the setup also gave us the feeling of dining in the restaurant. Our team thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the exceptional service from Fantasia, Andrew, and the entire staff. It was a fantastic experience from...
