I wish I could post zero stars...Phoned order in ahead...steak was ordered medium, and when we got home with it, it was burned. Broccoli was also burned. Called about the order after we saw what we had, and we were asked to bring it back to let the cook see it. They close at 9pm and this was at 8:50 pm. We were tired and hungry, and it would have taken us 20 minutes to get back to the restaurant. We paid almost $30.00 for 2 meals that we didn't/couldn't eat. And they weren't even willing to make it right. From now on, we'll go to Akita's across the street. Food is always right when we order from there, and it isn't overpriced, like it is at Sakura Bistro. I guess they're having to pay for that new building.

We are so glad you built your new restaurant in Forest City. The restaurant is beautiful. There is plenty of parking. We arrived about 230pm, trying to hit a slow time between lunch and dinner. We were seated immediately. The sushi was very good, the waitress (Karen L.) was very polite, the sushi chef came out to see if everything was to our liking, and we received plenty of tea refills (we drink a LOT of tea when we eat). The bathrooms are very clean. The food was very good. We had the stuffed grilled shrimp and Ahi tuna as appetizers, then several rolls (Sakura Roll, Surf & Turf Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Paradise Roll). Our favorites were the Sakura Roll and Paradise Roll).

The food was really great! First time eating here and I loved the food! I got the orange chicken and it was really good! It was very very busy, but it was on a Sunday so that's expected. The servers seemed understaffed and a bit short handed. One of the things we ordered was never brought to us. We couldn't tell them because they didn't come back to the table for us to tell them. They were just really slammed and busy and we were very understandable. We just asked them to take it off of our ticket. Very great food, the servers were just swamped but doing the best they could.

Husband and I dine in over the weekend here is the review..

Food: Husband ordered pad thai, was very greasy and they used too much ketchup. I ordered 2 rolls: Spicy Salmon and Volcano. The rice was very hard. Spicy salmon roll was not Spicy. Also, had 2 fish scales on two pieces, seem like a sushi 101 and very intentional. They were not busy.. The salmon tasted not fresh.. The Spicy mayo tasted like mayonnaise only, nothing special to it(need more sirracha and sugar). Volcano roll was decent, rice was still very hard. I don't know if the asian women rolling the sushi is the owner, but she did a TERRIBLE job needs to get retrained. Won't be giving you my money next time. If you don't treat all your customers fairly you'll slowly start loosing the locals like me. Service: Server had an attitude but I took as she was still young, throughout our time the server became a little more nicer. I was a waitress for 10 years at a hibachi/sushi restaurant, I get it, but if you don't enjoy what you do a bit, find another place to work.

Note this was the second time we dined in, first time we had no issues at all. I'll never go back. I'll travel the extra 55minutes to...

FOOD: Thai tea - 5/5! No comments really, it was just a very good Thai iced tea. Fried tofu - 1/5. EXTREMELY bland. House salad with ginger dressing - 4/5. Ginger dressing could have been sweeter but that’s my personal preference. Teriyaki chicken with broccoli - 2.5/5. This came out at the same time as everything else - it took less than 5 minutes. There is no way this was cooked to order in that amount of time. The flavor was good and portion size was good for the price but would have preferred it freshly cooked.

SERVICE: Waitress seemed very impatient. Gave us our check before we even got to our entrees. Didn’t ask about dessert, didn’t ask how anything was or if we needed more drinks. We were in and out in about 25 minutes because we felt rushed. Not sure why they want people in and out so quickly (no, it wasn’t crowded. There were 4 tables seated plus a few people waiting to pick up...

What a wonderful meal! This is the VERY BEST example of fast casual Japanese American food. When we picked up our order they were very friendly. Our food was packaged well. Someone knew and took the time to make cut outs on the containers holding fried items thereby allowing for steam to escape keeping the food crispy till we got it home. The crab rangoons were made with love; they were light and crispy with a filling that actually tasted of crab instead of a sugar bowl. My hibachi steak was served minus the swimming pool of cooking liquid so often found at other places. The tempura was delicious although the panko coating wasn't expected. I appreciated how the broccoli was par steamed before being battered and cooked. Their attention to detail really shines thru, great job Sakura...
