Local dive bar offering up a limited menu of bar fare. No frills, dated interior with bar height chairs for the locals around the bar and a scattering of tables on the bare cement floor. Not looking for a full meal, we found ourselves selecting and enjoying one of the starters. Their Smokin’ Pork Fries came with fresh, hand cut fries with a good amount of their own smoked pork, spicy sauce and ranch. Thankfully my wife had the foreknowledge to have them lightly cover the meat and put the remaining sauce on the side. My first bite of tasty, smoky flavored pork dipped heavily in the Sriracha bbq sauce had me coughing and reaching for the water. Love the no-so-fast-food fries with the thicker, crispier texture and the smoky tang of the meat.

Stopped by for dinner on a Sunday and managed to eek out a table amongst the families from a hockey tournament - we're talking busy, and kids everywhere. Our server was upbeat and friendly and she managed to keep our drinks refilled despite the constant activity around us. We tried a pub house and a friar melt sandwich, one of with fries the other with the standard chips. Both were very good, but I'm not sure I'd pay extra for fries again, they were mostly small cuts and ends and more crunchy than nice and 'fry like' if that's a thing. Overall, the prices were fair, multiple staff interacted with us and made us feel welcome, and we heartily recommend this local pub!

Popped in to the Friar for the 1st time as a midway point with pals for burgers. The place is a basic sports bar with pull-tabs, a dart board, and they had a DJ. They had awesome Happy Hour specials on beer called a double up! 2nd beer was $1 from 4-6pm. We had a server named Kim and she was super friendly and gave us impeccable service with the place very busy, Kim was an awesome server! We will be back when in the area without a doubt👌😁

If you're looking for a place to grab a drink go for it. IF YOU WANT FOOD GOES ELSE WHERE!!!

My salad was great, crisp lettuce and croutons with a slice of tomato. French dressing tangy, not my thing but needless to say someone might like it. I ordered the fire grilled chicken which appeared to be nothing more than boiled chunks of chicken with absolutely no seasoning or flavor. Fire grilled read the menu?!?! I'm not even sure that chicken ever even saw fire. After I cut off the chunk of gristle it was moist but could have only been the water since my plate was covered in it. The baked potato I swear was prepared the day before by a microwave and then wrapped in a piece of tin foil. I received this so called loaded with 3 small pieces of I think bacon. I will say this was served hot but once I got past what I believe was cheese the potato was almost rubbery in a way and not even mashable let alone edible. One bit loaded with butter was filling enough for me. I sent my dish back and the server said she would being me a new dish free of charge and suggested the panko. Let's just say I should have declined altogether and left while I was ahead. I still paid for the meal I never ate....regardless not the servers fault and she was more than friendly and nice. Hubby had the ruben and said the...
