I went to the restaurant on a Sunday around 9pm and ordered take out.
Parking: This restaurant is in a strip mall so there's ample parking spaces. Just be careful entering as it's one way in and another way out. You've to go around the building to the exit.
Neighborhood: As a single female at night it appeared to be a safe enough area and it's very close to the I285 highway.
Food: I ordered the crispy skin pork in rice which came with steamed white rice, steamed bok choy and a slightly salty sauce that appeared to be the rendering of the juices derived from roasting the pork. If you like subtle flavors you'll love this dish. Whilst I enjoyed it, I would have loved for the pork to have some seasoning on it like five spice and the bok choy could have some garlic. It was a little too bland but the sauce they served since it was salty helped add some seasoning to the overall taste.
I also ordered the Young Chow fried rice which was tasty and chocked full of various meats, it was lacking salt however but other than that out was quite tasty. I also ordered the squid with ginger scallion sauce. It was served with onions and scallions and ginger in a delicious brown sauce.
From the time I ordered the food at the counter and received it, it was about 10th minutes or less. They cooked our food very quickly. The staff was very friendly and polite and were greeting all guests as we entered the establishment.
All in all I enjoyed the food here and...
Read moreThe restaurant looks authentic, but that’s about it. The customer service and food were ridiculously poor. The Egg Foo Young was straight-up disgusting it looked like dough! I asked the young lady with pink hair to please get a manager so someone could explain what was in this food. Instead of even checking, she caught an attitude right away and said, “He’s not here, he just left, you’ll just have to wait — I can’t take it off.”
I said, “Why does this look like dough? I’ve never seen Egg Foo Young look like this in my life.” Then I told her we didn’t want it and hadn’t even eaten any of it. She kept insisting they’ve been putting flour in it for over 30 years — like that made it okay! I said, “Well, I’m not paying for something we’re not eating.”
At that point, I ended up calling Clayton County police and told her, “No problem, I’m on the phone with the police now.” Her response? “Don’t worry, just never come back here again.” I said, “Girl, please — I...
Read moreI've been here at least 5 times and have always gotten the same thing, General Tsu's chicken with white rice. Always thought it was good. This time, I found a small roach in my sauce with my chicken. I didn't call them to complain because I didn't feel like going back to the restaurant. I was completely grossed out and threw up at the thought of eating the roach lol. I'm getting grossed out now just thinking about it. If it wasnt for that roach, I would have definitely been back to get my fix. I thought they had the best Chinese food in the area but now I can never go back.
Update: I wound up going back and I found a fly in my soup. I’m officially done. No, this was not on a Tuesday as the responder mentioned. I just updated it from the last time I ate there. After the second time, I didn’t feel the need to contact the restaurant. I just knew I wouldn’t...
