This establishment is awful, Iāve been here twice before, and the food itself was not the issue as I came back, but the customer service from the woman at the front is terrible. On all three counters she does not greet. She is very rude. She did not speak at all. I just mentioned what I like to order, she brings it out. Tell me how much it cost and just walk away now the reason Iām writing this review today and not before and have decided to not come back is because I now referred a friend here because the food was good. I went to place an order for me and her and I asked the same woman if theyāre a Eghusi soup was vegan because my friend is vegan and also has a fish allergy . She immediately said yes, several times So I proceeded to place my friends order. Now I made sure because my friend is allergic to fish. I drove all the way from McDonough to Forest Park, which was 35 minutes there and back for my friend to find fish bones in her soup. I brought her back to the restaurant to get her money back and let them know and she now has to go to emergency because sheās having a reaction and the lady just starts yelling at her and pointing her finger where she had to call me in and then she tells me that she said it was vegan, but everyone knows that fish their soup. So then, if thatās the case, it is not vegan And she needs her money back. She proceeds to yell at her as Iām talking calmly the entire time and then it tries to include the guest that come in asking them how their food is like that made a difference. She calls the owner and the owner yell, and the owner says that they cannot do refunds after her employee admitted that she said it was vegan and my friend had a reaction. This the most unprofessional business establishment I ever came across. I wouldnāt recommend anyone coming here. She is very rude and the face of the business as sheās always there and when I asked for her name, she asked me what does she need to give me her name for and proceeded to walk to the back. Then hung up the phone with the owner and didnāt say...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām going to preface this with: the negative reviews I read before visiting here came to fruition. With that being said, I wanted to assume those were just a tiny sample in a large pool of reviews bc there are quite a number of great reviews. I was disappointed that I didnāt share in their enthusiasm.
Upon entering, an overwhelming smell of fragrance masked what was funk. š©. Ordered Egusi and Fufu for $15.00. Lady at the counter was eating but was prompt in going to the back to prepare my meal. I glanced through the window to see her putting the egusi in the microwave. š©. Once warmed, she brings it out with her fingers covered in grease (to which I assumed she did not wash her hands in between eating her food and preparing my food).š©. I paid with card (bc I read the reviews on how they donāt refund and I can dispute a charge but not cash). I got to my car and instincts told me to try the food. It was horrid. The beef was, as mentioned in previous reviews, overcooked and dry. The egusi was spoiled. The fufu was the only thing edible. I immediately went back in and asked for an exchange for something else. I was denied bc I had ātouched the foodā. I asked for a refund. I was also denied for the same reason. I asked for a manager and after some back and forth on why she couldnāt give me the managers name but could give me her number (??) I was given a number and spoke to āMs. Kikiā. Now guys, Iāve had African cuisine before. Iāve particularly had egusi. This was not it. Maybe it was a bad day or maybe these great reviews are from friends and family bc I was so appalled. I was told by the lady at the counter that (and I kid you not) maybe I didnāt like the meal bc I was American. She also threw in that there were Americans in there moments ago that liked their food. Ms. Kiki simply repeated what the front cashier said and refused to accommodate me at all. End result was I called my bank to dispute the order.
Going to give Buka 2 or Nema Kitchen a go next time bc this canāt be the best that Atlanta...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNasty restaurant with a nasty attitude . The place honestly smelled like feces when I entered the stinky establishment. I'm not sure if their having plumbing problems or what but that type of bacteria in the air cant be good for preparing food. As soon as I entered I was hit with a foul stench so bad I almost became nauseous from breathing it in. The place was cold and empty. I waited by the front counter for about 4-5 minutes to a very rude women with drawn on eyebrows . With no greeting she snarkly snapped at me, what you want! When I told her Im here to pick up an order she repeatedly asked me what, several times every time I spoke to seemingly bother me because I was very clear and standing directly in front of her. After repeating myself a forth time she snarled Im not serving you anything until you go back outside and park properly. I was shocked that she was more concerned with my parking in her completely empty parking lot, than giving me the food that she was paid for. In disbelief I asked was the food even ready she snarled back again, Im not giving you nothing until you go back outside and park properly. Again the parking lot was completely empty and I was blocking no cars or entrances in anyway. Once I realized this woman was clearly not only an extremely hateful person but crazy too.. I told her Ill save her the trouble and ill just leave and cancelled my friends order. The positive reviews are suspicious I honestly...
