Kenny's Cafe — Restaurant in Forest Park

Here’s why I gave them a five. The atmosphere was great on entry. I could see ladies working hard in the kitchen and people eating good. The menu is easy to understand and plenty of meat options. The smoked sausage was amazing. Fried eggs were perfect. The grits had no seasoning, but once I added the salt and pepper with butter they were really good. The biscuit was the perfect shape, look and feel but I could only eat the top half as it’s a bit much to eat with the pancakes plus after eating at it a while the biscuit wasn’t all that. Pancakes look like a million bucks just picture perfect . The taste was nine out of 10. A little interesting on the chew but it was ever so slight. Plenty parking, very nice cashier lady. Restrooms are clean enough and accommodating. Not a ton of seats for this to be a Breakfast meeting location because after a while people are looking for the next person to get up. Seems pretty popular. I was nervous to go here because it said Hapeville and I was thinking it was far but it wasn’t far at all. The amount of potatoes they give you on a home fries order is amazing. Best home fries ever, very authentic and fresh liked they diced them up, peeled them themselves. I’m sitting in the car writing this review before I leave because it was worth it very affordable and I’d recommend and be back. They have footsteps on the ground to show you where to line up, but often people make their own line so they may need to add a sign. The bathroom was dark, May need to add lighting. Stock materials in lobby, I’m sure they’re looking for a creative way to find more storage space. This didn’t seem bad or in the way. It was very neat and organized, have to work with what you got. I order from this place often for breakfast over the past few years. I sometimes order ahead through doordash because there is usually a line during the week. I ordered my breakfast (paid in advance) to avoid the line. When I arrived there was a line of 8ppl. I walked to the front. I waited for the cashier to finish with her customer then I asked "excuse me ma'am I ordered online and would like to know if my order is ready" the cashier rolled her eyes and began to help the next customer. I canceled the order and then left because of the very rude encounter. I returned today and ordered breakfast with the same cashier. I asked her about our last encounter and would she have preferred I still waited in line when I had already paid she said she was rude "because they were busy". The food is good but people don’t want to buy from people tht hve an attitude before u walk up to the register! Do u think black people owe u aomething? Would ur behavior be tht way in a white neighborhood? No bc they wouldn’t want u there. They hve a tip jar tht says “dont trip, tip” but who gives a tip when ur rude and not doing anthing but giving a smart answer for an innocent question. Take ur guard down it’s unnecessary and maybe just maybe u will get more tips. I pay when service is professional and u don’t get a tip on GP I.e general purposes if u don’t know!
