Read moreWell this was a great way to waste my money. Went out to eat last night and ended up at Red Robin, mostly because everywhere else was an extreme wait. First impression was bad, I haven't been here since I was a kid and I think I know why now. I walk up to the host stand and the girl just stares at me without saying a word and waits till I say how many I need a table for so we get put on a short list, ten or 15 goes past and my name is called. They walk us through the whole restaurant to a back booth tucked far in the back by the kitchen, it wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't just walked through a restaurant that was absolutely filthy every inch of the ground was covered in chicken tenders or crayon that nobody seemed to care about. It honestly felt like Texas roadhouse with the peanuts except it wasn't suppose to be. The booth we were sitting at also was directly next to where the silverware gets sorted. And the people sorting weren't shy about making plenty of noise from it either. We order an app and our meal at the same time. App took 20 or so and it was fries basically, the rest of the meal took about 30 min. And I get it was Friday and busy and it's not extremely long to wait for dinner on Friday, but still annoying after dealing with everything else so far. Get the food and everything was edible. Except for one thing, the burger. I thought this place was gourmet burgers yet I've had better at McDonalds. The burger was tiny, so small it fit on half the bun and the bun was ice cold and stale. Really was feeling my money going down the drain at that point. We finish eating and head out through the graveyard of kids menus and bottomless steak fries, where we were once again greeted with silence as we walked past the host stand with 2 people standing there. I purposely stared at them while walking out to see if they were going to say have a good night or hope to see you soon or just a simple thank you, and nothing. Even while starring at them and sarcastically saying you guys have a good night too it was like I didn't even exist, nothing even got acknowledged from the people who are your first and last stop. Bottom line from this one for me is dont plan on going back, and I'd suggest to anyone a different Friday night spot at the very least. Food cost too much for how crappy it taste and service and atmosphere aren't even worth...
Read moreVery disappointing. I've been going to this RR for...30 years?... getting the same thing almost every time. (I know, I sound old. But I'm not.) The quality and size of the meal have drastically gone downhill while the price has increased. I get the Whiskey River BBQ wrap, and it used to be large enough that it was legit 2 meals. It used to be in a greenish/spinach tortilla, and used to be packed with chicken and filling (cheese and tortilla strips and sauce and lettuce). It was one of my favorite meals, the flavors and mix was perfect. I'm not kidding when I say it was close to the size of the plate, and half would be filling enough. You also used to get a good amount of fries with the first part of your order and subsequent bottomless fries requests. Now, the BBQ wrap is tiny - the entire thing feels smaller than half the original size, and most of it is just the white tortilla wrapped into itself over and over. Not much of the chicken filling. Not much flavor. Definitely not 2 meals in one. And, now you get about 5 fries total with your meal. And you have to keep ordering more every few minutes, because you keep getting 5 fries. It feels crazy, and you feel like you're annoying your waitstaff, and you feel bad and gluttonous for keeping on ordering fries even though you get so little each time... and I think they rely on all these bad feelings making you stop asking for fries and saving them money. But 2 meals (no desserts) costs almost $50, so you should get the fries you want. Overall, this visit made me think I may never have a reason to return to RR because it's just simply not worth the cost or the continual hassle to get the food I ordered. It's too bad, but I have to make sure I spend my money wisely, and...
