In a city like Fort Collins, where craft beer and pub fare reign supreme, you wouldnât expect to stumble upon a hidden gem of sushi mastery tucked unassumingly in a strip mall. But there it is â Sushi-Fi, an oasis of Japanese art in the midst of Coloradoâs wild, western flair. Here, youâre greeted with the warmth of a place that feels like itâs been waiting for you all along. Fort Collins doesnât yet know the treasure theyâve got here.
Sushi-Fi has that all-you-can-eat option, yes, but donât make the mistake of thinking this place is about quantity over quality. Itâs about a commitment to craft thatâs reflected in every piece of nigiri, every roll, every tiny, meticulous cut the chef makes. Youâll watch as they sculpt tuna, salmon, and eel into masterpieces that rival anything youâd find in the poshest eateries of Tokyo or New York. The fish is remarkably fresh, so much so youâd think the oceanâs just a few miles down the road instead of 1,000 miles away.
Whatâs striking about Sushi-Fi is that it doesnât lean into pretension. The quality is five-star, no question, but the ambiance remains welcoming, intimate. Every detail matters here. The napkins feel soft as linen and hint at the care behind every choice made at Sushi-Fi. Even the water â yes, the water â tastes somehow purer, chilled just right, like itâs part of the overall experience, part of the magic.
But letâs talk about the service, the team that keeps this place buzzing. They treat every guest like a regular, like theyâve known you for years. Theyâre attentive without hovering, ready with an explanation for each dish, each ingredient. And itâs rare to find service like this, especially in an all-you-can-eat place, where people are usually trying to get you in and out. Not here. Sushi-Fiâs staff seems to genuinely care that you enjoy every single bite.
Thereâs something beautiful about discovering a place that feels like it shouldnât be where it is â a restaurant that, by some grace of the gods, has chosen Fort Collins to make its mark. Sushi-Fi is that place. And if youâre lucky enough to sit at the counter, to watch the chefs at work, youâll see firsthand that Sushi-Fi is more than a meal; itâs an art gallery, an exhibition of what sushi can be when thereâs passion, respect, and precision in every movement, every...

Last night on the recommendation of a friend that claimed Nimoâs is the best sushi in town, the reality set in that there isnât great sushi in Fort Collins. One star for ambiance and one star for the tempura appetizer⌠My bf and I entered and were promptly seated and were eager to put an order in but were quickly disappointedâŚthe waitress âwarned us that a second order would take 45 mins to an hour so we add 2 more rolls. This is an unfortunate tactic when one simply wishes to dine and enjoy but they have a second seating and donât want you to stay. (One star taken). Also the prices on many items we ordered had a $1 up charge that was not reflected on the menu (not a major issue) but the quality did not reflect the up charge.
We ordered the sashimi dinner, several pieces of nigiri and two rolls (upon being âwarnedâ). The sashimi dinner was half inedible by my standards and my bf continued to eat it because of his Midwest upbringing where you donât waste food. Also the waitress described 6 fishes on the sashimi plate but the chef only put 5 varieties on the plate, I didnât feel the urge to make a fuss at this point.
The nigiri was average but the rice was unseasoned and slightly dry and crumbled when picked up with chopsticks (not sure if it was day old rice or left out out too long- one star taken.)
Lastly the sushi rolls ordered were a spicy tuna and a salmon mayo- the salmon mayo was missing a crunch element that the waitress described and oddly both rolls tasted identical and we did not feel the need to order any further given the quality or lack thereof (star taken).
In all, this sushi was highly unremarkable and not worth returning for us⌠we appreciate this restaurantâs attempts but there are obvious issues of communication between staff and kitchen, unlisted price changes, and overall a sense of you get what you get attitude that has me questioning these other reviews.
If youâre under 25 or over 60, and drink beer/sake, then youâll...
Read moreDrove down from Wyoming to specifically come to this restaurant. It was busy, we had to wait for a table, wasn't too long, being a Friday evening. Once we were seated, its very tight seating, they asked us if they could move our table to accommodate another table. We agreed, and were put by a wall between the kitchen, I sat next to a trash can and the bathroom hall, where everyone that walked by bumped into us.
But.. we were not too upset about that. 3 of us ordered the all you can eat and one of us just ala carte. Well we received our first round but our single individual did not. So at some point I mentioned her not getting what she ordered and she still didn't get it. So with our second order, the other 3 of us stopped getting what we ordered and several tables next to us kept getting handed our stuff and vice versus.
When I asked for the check, I advised that we didn't get the ala carte items and she took it off the order and I paid and TIPPED, even though the service sucked.
So ready to leave, the original waitress comes over, they must have spoken to her and accused me of probably eating the item we knew we didn't get. Totally unnecessary. I will not return
The...
