Nestled in the heart of the western side of the city, White Tree Sushi and Asian Cuisine is a delightful escape from the mundane. As I strolled in post-lunch rush, I was promptly greeted and ushered to my table amidst the whimsical decor that oozes chic vibes unlike any other. The culinary adventure began with a piping hot bowl of miso soup, a comforting embrace for the soul, followed by a palate-cleansing seaweed salad that danced lightly on my taste buds, leaving me refreshed and ready for more. But oh, the pièce de résistance – the sushi rolls! Impeccably prepared and bursting with flavor, each bite was a symphony of taste. And just when I thought the experience couldn't get any more enchanting, enter the charming robot server, a quirky addition to the already magical atmosphere. While it usually delivers dishes within arm's reach, my solo dining adventure led me on a merry dance to retrieve my tantalizing treats – a delightful twist to an already delightful meal.In essence, White Tree Sushi and Asian Cuisine is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience, a whimsical journey into a world where flavor reigns supreme and surprises await at every turn. I've fallen under its spell, and I can't wait to embark on this culinary escapade again soon!

I spent $92 dollars and received the worst rolled and cut rolls I think I've ever gotten. We are hungry and my husband was already late coming home, so.. Can't really spend another hour and a half waiting for new food. This is the third time out of the many times we have ordered from here that have been like this. The last time was on a Saturday, so we just accepted what we got but it's a Tuesday night.. For anything nearing $100 to get this is unacceptable. Looked fine before opening, he had checked before he left, but all of the rolls are falling apart and the special rolls are severely lacking on things like tobiko that are in the description of the roll. The tempura is mushy even though he was waiting there to pick it up. The only thing not pictured was the crispy rice appetizers which were burnt. So expensive for something so sub par.

This beautifully decorated restaurant serves a delightful fusion of Japanese and Korean dishes. I took a good friend here who has historically been Asian averse, and she became a convert. We had perfect bulgogi bibimbap, a succulent smoked eel roll, and a super yummy katsu fried pork steak. The meal was followed up with a complimentary portion of delicately flavored Japanese mochi ice cream. The only problem with the meal was that there was no kimchi available. Our kind and attentive waiter explained that some of their customers feel that it has too strong of an odor. Such a shame! There are a few foods more healthful on Earth than kimchi. 🫤

Blatantly dishonest.

If you had asked me before today what my go-to sushi spot in town was, I'd say it was this place but their blatant dishonesty has really soured my opinion on this restaurant.

Today I ordered takeout to celebrate the birth of my son and finally getting some sushi for my wife. We ordered takeout-- order placed at 7:21pm, estimated to be ready at 8:01pm. I arrive at 8pm and I'm met by a lady that says it'll take just a little longer. No big deal, so I take a seat. I hear her go around and interact with other diners and she seems really friendly, overhear a conversation that reveals she's the previous owners daughter. Time goes by and I don't hear anything. I continue waiting and waiting without any updates. By now the time is 8:40pm and no one has even bothered to give me an update. I finally get up and ask the same lady for an update. "Oh are you here for pickup?" (Okay, so she clearly forgot I was waiting, strike one.) I tell her I've been here and just wanted an update, she hurries back to the kitchen and picks up a bag of food, calls over to the other cooks as asks them how long the order had been ready, I hear him "about an hour." (Stike two) She responds, "an hour?!" At this point another gentleman comes out from the back and says that my order will be ready soon because the host didn't know I had arrived. She comes back out, hands me my food and tells me to have a good night. I hesitate, "is this safe? I feel like it's been sitting out for a while." She responds "no, it's only been sitting for about 10 to 15 minutes. (Strike three). I wanted to tell her I literally heard them talking in the back but being unconfrontational, I decided I just wanted to get out of there. Maybe just be honest next time or offer a voucher or SOMETHING if for no other reason than forgetting I was there for 40 minutes.

Very disappointed and honestly, pissed.

TLDR; Daughter of previous owners lied to my face about how long my food had been sitting out, doubt her parents would've wanted their restaurant...

In some respects, I am not certain how to qualify this place. I can give it at least 4.9 stars for NYC. I am new to Fort Collins but have lived in NYC for 34 years... I can attest this is the best place in Fort Collins sushi and sashimi. An aside. you may think that we from NYC always appear to be snobby about food... we are not. we have lived a town that has so many restaurants that the weakest simply do not survive. Hence the food is great. Really great. And you learn quickly that is worth it and what it not because the really good restaurant is just around the corner... White Tree and Asian Restaurant is a place that would survive there. For me, a new permanent resident and former CSU grad... I will frequent White Tree for as long they are in business and I live here. The robot is a cute gimmick.. but more importantly, the food is thoughtfully prepared and tasty, the fish is fresher than one can imagine in a town of this size that is this far away from the oceans.....the atmosphere is very attractive... the artwork is real and that of the owner's, as well as the rest of the decor, the waitress is the daughter. This restaurant, small as it is, would/could survive in NYC, people would appreciate the preparation and choices, the ambiance... we should be thankful for White Tree's presence in Fort Collins.

If you are looking for a sushi restaurant by price point only ... this might be a good Saturday night date night restaurant. But if you care about quality food and are willing to pay a little more for it... this is a delightful restaurant where you can eat properly prepared fresh sushi and sashimi while enjoying the atmosphere as well. My husband had delightful albacore sashimi tonight... I will order it next time. One thinks of the Dragon roll as, oh everyone gets that when they are unsure of what else to get, but it is really good. Kudos to the...

This business serves rotten sushi and shames its customers.

To start, I have never received such horrible customer service in all my life. And I had been a customer here for a few years spending hundreds of dollars.

We ordered over $75 worth of food for take out, which included one order of the salmon nigiri. Upon getting home I opened the salmon and was immediately hit with a disgusting fishy odor, it was not fresh sushi. All 4 people at my house agreed it was not good and was not safe to be consumed. I decided to call and let White Tree know that the salmon wasn’t fresh. They then refused to refund me unless I brought it in. So I DROVE back with the fish and told them the same thing.

The owner then comes and talks to me and opens the nigiri up and smells it. She kept smelling it multiple times and kept saying it was fine and that many people had eaten it that night. Let me tell you, IT WAS ROTTEN. The owner proceeds to shame us and kept smelling it over and over and saying it was fine. She initially wouldn't help us and kept talking about how weird things happen at the restaurant regarding customers and their sushi and that’s why we had to drive the rotten food back. We told her we had been customers here for years and have never had any issue with the food before. I didn’t understand why rotten $8 nigiri would cause all this trouble. Eventually she gave us $8 in cash as a refund, we did not get any tax that we payed back.

I actually lived in Japan for 4 years and know what sushi should look and smell like. White Tree used to be one of my favorite places to get sushi since moving back from Japan.

If they think serving this fish is fine, absolutely no one should be eating here.

It’s extremely disappointing and insane that White Tree would rather have their $8 than a happy returning customer who pays $75 every time they went.

Avoid...
