Took my friends here for their first time as I used to come all the time after a night of Geeks Who Drink pub trivia down the street. We all ended up agreeing on two major points. 1. the band they booked was some great dancing. 2. Absolute terrible customer service. Our first trip to the bar the bartender was shouting at the people in line rather rudely, not even getting people's orders, just shouting and waving her hands, then turns to her coworker and laughs and smirks as she points to the crowd. Our second trip to the bar was when we realized we'd never come back again. Waited our turn in line, and when we asked for some water with the drinks, the drinks came but the guy just walked off. We waited about ten minutes for him to even look at us as we were still standing in front of the bar. His tone was so rude, like a "What are you still doing here?" It was only after we asked for a third time that he informed my friends that water was self serve around the corner, and again, smirked/laughed, and walked away. Like, if you're new to a place how would you know where things are? Overall, it's their tone and attitude to the people they're serving that sucks. If you can't provide customer service, don't be in the...
Read more50/50 Our 1st time at the Emporium was great! Cedar was out bartender, very friendly, social & attentive. Other bartenders also checked on us & they were incredibly friendly as well. The chips & salsa were delicious. Prices were shockingly low. Such a good time! This was the Saturday of Tour De Fat.
Now completely opposite. We attempted Emporium today, CSU Homecoming. I sat at the bar & was never approached as staff walked by numerous times. A friend was in the parking lot charging his phone & finishing his hard tea so we were refused service. This has never happened before, ever. As far as I'm aware, what happens in parking lots has nothing to do with a business but... My husband who mind you didn't have an alcohol beverage continuously apologized & said thank you yet he was treated with complete disrespect. Neither employees had a name tag but I overheard the name of the man (Robert), the woman was Caucasian, tall, long brunette hair. Both were incredibly rude, not sure if we'll go back. Maybe we'll call 1st to make sure Cedar is working. Good luck if you decide to go, it's a...
Read moreI'm just singling out the open mic event, not the establishment. This is a review focused on the open mic. First off there are flyers in the bathroom and a ad on the website that states the open mic sign ups start at 530pm, and the open mic started at 630. The hosts showed at 645, and said that it doesn't actually doesn't start til 7. I went on first. The PA wasn't working, mic cables were dysfunctional. No one was there to play music or even listen. Every one was there to play pool or darts.... no one cared in that room there was a open mic happening. The hosts of the open mic were laughable, and mediocre musicians. Look. the point is have an event set up correctly. There is too much going on in the establishment for anyone to even give two 💩s about open mìcs. I'm a real musician and I take playing live seriously. I be returning to play pool and drink beer, but I will not participate in the open mic... waste of time... much love on the emporium for...
