Find a new bar "manager". I doubt this "woman" can even manage her own life. It has been a busy fourth of July night, but she openly complained to the customer next to me of "people who don't know their drink order" ... I was trying to buy the second round for my THREE VETERAN friends... to be FAIR, she also , who served the first round, did not know what they were drinking... and basically stopped serving me. One of the veterans' mother was also out with us, and couldn't even get a GLASS OF WATER from this "BAR MANAGER", His mom was our DD.... This girl is clearly at the end of her rope and either cannot handle the volume or simply put, the public. To also be fair... another local regular informed that "this is her bar and she likes to let everyone know that"... ok. So I can't get drinks for my friends? I'm accepting of WHATEVER they order... clearly I can pay, and am WILLING to.... yes, please piss me off... Another frequent flyer of this establishment told me that she has yelled at him before because she stopped serving everyone else of his group, and he kept ordering drinks for them... I can HONESTLY say I have never had to try to calculate a tip percentage of 5... ALWAYS 20% as my mother and best friend live on tips... I truly hope she has made her life exactly as she desires it with absolutely no consideration for anyone else in the world. In Tampa, not a SINGLE BUSINESS OWNER would EVER let this fly. I guess they just know where their money comes from... Good luck!!!!! -ended up with a $1 tip where I was prepared to spend $150 this evening, only made it to 22$... ((I managed a similar outfit, and increased net profit and gross income 300%... 320%)) Pull camera if you don't believe me... I'm in black on the far end of the bar... mom was in...
Read moreBeware if you are not a local who's who. I typically get along with people anywhere i go, but this experience was different. A couple acted like we were friends until another person wanted to join in the round of shots that i was paying for. The gentleman (regular) claimed that he would buy 6 shots to equal the 6 i offered to include additional patrons to our trio until we had the drinks. Then claimed he already had his. I maintained my composure and stepped away from the group without consuming the shot I paid for. The female bar tender threatened to call the cops and blame the situation on me. I walked outside to my vehicle and watched one of their friends with his shirt off act 10 kinds of crazy in the parking lot. I was only there for a few drinks and to have a good time socializing while in the area. An attempt by the bartender and her friends to deceive me ruined the whole night for everyone. Hey, brunette bartender working on 10/20/24, next time blame the person at fault for creating the bad vibes instead of threatening to call the cops on the nice guy buying 6 people top shelf Tequila. Fortunately, it was my last night in the area and I have no plans to go back for obvious reasons. I hope the owner can use this review to create a culture welcoming...
Read moreThe jetty lounge is definitely a hangout for locals, the rum runners are pretty good there and if you like a crowd it can be the place to be, those are the pros.
The cons however: the rum runners to-go are unfairly expensive for the convenience of being able to go home with them vs drinking them in the bar and they melt faster in the to-go containers. The building is not very clean, everything just feels sticky and the bathroom is gross unless you like filth and walking in piss. The bar is really really smokey, they have what seems to be a decent AC system and means of ventilation but it's pretty bad in there especially when it shoulder to shoulder. The drink prices aren't very competitive considering Hurricanes and the Inlet just next door.
I have not been back to the jetty lounge after receiving a rum runner that made me ill, I took 3-4 sips of it and blacked out before making it back to my friend's car. I didn't order it special, no 151 or anything like that, I don't know what happened with that drink I just...
