Food: Ordered a cup of clam chowder & calamari to start. Both were pretty good. For our main meals we had the blackened blue burger & the crispy fish sandwich (haddock). The French fries & homemade chips were delicious sides, however the sandwich came with dry bread, no sauce, butter or anything on it besides a small side cup of tarter that was barely enough to smear on the sandwich. The size of the fried haddock was decent and the batter was crispy. The burger was a little more on the greasy side but the flavors were there & was cooked medium rare as asked.

Service: Our server was very kind and helpful with helping us look over the menu and make our choices; she even shared her personal preferences which we followed and give two thumbs up for 👍🏼👍🏼. The only downside was that once we chose where to be seated on the deck (you chose yourself) it took a while for anyone to notice us and hand out menus.

This was our first time dining here so we went in through the main building entrance and was met with three workers chatting at the hostess desk. Seemed like we were interrupting their conversation and they were waiting for us to leave (the two of us stood there silently & politely waiting for them to greet us). We chose to sit outside because it felt like we were being shooed away, but the view on the water made it a better experience.

Atmosphere: Pretty chilled and relaxed, overall enjoyable if you’re looking for something easy going with a view. The prices are a bit high, but seeing that it’s on the water and is an easy tourist stop you can kind of see the correlation.

📍 Overall a good place to come in and grab something to eat with a view. Loved reading all the witty signs on the deck and having an easy...

Three of us went for the Easter Buffet and were extremely disappointed and felt ripped off. Their ad said “& much more” to the little that was listed in the picture below, but “much more” that I can remember additionally was corn (seemed out of a can), cheap rolls, and the choice of four very bad tasting cakes (carrot, coconut, German chocolate, and lemon). They also failed to mention in the ad that they would add a 20% automatic tip which was $10.60 for my bill alone.

We all gasped when we received our bill. In addition to the buffet, I ordered one drink which was $8. My bill alone was $67.30!!

We all felt very ripped off:

There was hardly any selection to be considered a “buffet.”

The food was barely edible, and poorly presented.

We were forced to pay a 20% tip to a waitress who took just a drink order (and got one of the drinks wrong - they did fix it though), and pointed us in the right direction to serve ourselves. She came back to check on us once to see if we wanted to order more drinks, and then to bring our bill. I’m typically a good tipper, but don’t like to be forced to pay an undisclosed charge, especially if for poor or little service.

The forced 20% tip was indicated on the bill for “large party.” There were only three of us! If this was a holiday surcharge, it should have been disclosed ahead of time.

I will never go back. Buyer beware, especially if for...

Date of visit 4/27/23 lunch time.

We have eaten at The Manatee previously and were very disappointed in our visit yesterday. Quality was really gone down.

The description of the items on the menu did not match what we actually ordered.

House salad was supposed to come with candied walnuts and Cran raisins and the cost was $10.50. When I told our server that there was no walnuts and Cran raisins and if we could get a discount she said “no”. All it had was some salad, cucumber and tomato with a little dressing. I even told her.. the whole reason I ordered it was for these two items! But I guess we were required to pay for a salad without all the ingredients.

Margarita Mussels tasted off and the broth was watery. The toasted bread was stale and inedible.

We ordered two French dips, only one had fried onions as stated on menu

Calamari was tiny small portion for $16

The woman bartender was unfriendly, unwelcoming. Bad attitude.

Food was mediocre. Poor quality. Food presentation was sloppy. Kitchen takes no pride in their food and very inconsistent.

The tuna salad sandwich was good.

We will not be back. Very disappointing as we brought friends visiting from WI and we were embarrassed by the dining experience.

Karen was doing the best she could but she was the only server for the entire outside dining area. Not enough servers on the floor to satisfy customer service.

No...

With a view and atmosphere like this, it's really unfortunate to have to give such a low rating. A group of 4 of us were in for lunch and drinks in the early afternoon and seated on the patio. It took close to fifteen minutes to see a server, and when he showed up - said he'd be back to take our drink order. That process was about another ten minutes. Once we had received drinks, we had to track him down to place our food order - and once it came, we had a couple of issues. The bbq chicken mac and cheese looked amazing, as did the cheeseburger, but two of us at the table had ordered fries (at a cost) as a side. My dish came with a small amount of fries, and another order had about 5-7. Our server said 'Don't worry, they're making more - we'll bring them to you', and that was the last we saw of him until it was time to settle the check. The food was good, but the experience left a lot to be desired. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed that day - I can't fault our server as he was kind, and didn't seem to have much help. I'm hoping this was an isolated incident as the reviews seem quite positive - they just weren't ready for what I would consider to be a very mild lunch rush. At that price point, and the service issues - I wouldn't repeat.
