Waffle House — Restaurant in Fort Pierce

ZERO STARS This was at the waffle house right behind Wendy's : 7147 Okeechobee Rd, Fort Pierce, FL 34945 We sat down with the intention to eat and take a meal with us for my family member at home after we ordered the coffee we were bluntly told that we were not allowed to order food to go and not only were we not allowed to get food to go we were informed that we could not even take home leftovers and because of this I felt the need to go ahead and just pay for our three-quarter full cup of coffee for $3 each and take my business elsewhere the server really wasn't that pleasant and a pretty rude and I can honestly see like it really doesn't matter what business they lose because obviously they get plenty of business but it's really just crazy how poorly we were treated and on top of that we paid $6 for two small coffees and they told us that we weren't even allowed to take home the food that we purchased home with us I will not be back at this location🤨😑

I understand that with times the way they are that this limits certain capabilities but when you go to there sister location (review on bottom) and see they are 2x more busier and able to give excellent customer service

I just don't understand if we are sitting there eating why it is such an issue to put a order in while we are there to get a meal to go home nor do I understand why we couldn't even take food we couldn't finish with us. Another point is they have a sister location if they were out of supplies why they couldn't not call the other waffle house and borrow some of there to-go boxes question ⁉️

Oh my gosh! I stay in the Jupiter FL area and come up 30 miles to ‘this’ Waffle House for the quality of food preparation as well as the attention to the service. During ‘this’ last stay in the area, I have visiting 3 times so far, and possibly one more today. :

I think the entire staff does well, but the person I would like call attention to is - I am not sure of the spelling - but I think the servers name is Ali. So why am I so impressed? Well, she is the ‘only’ server on staff! She takes care of everything and everyone! When she is not making sure you are waited on, he is prepping for the next shift! (She even comes by and takes the dishes that I already dirtied; as well as others at the tables, so she can wash them immediately.) She communicates clearly with the customers and coordinates with the cooks to make sure everything is coming out correct.

So why do I think all this is all so special? – Because I just found out she is still in High School! And she is not driving yet and has all this responsibility! Wow!

I would like to call attention to two groups of people that should be proud of this person on your staff. (The two groups are 1: Waffle House Management and 2: her Parents!) I just found out she is 17 years old and has all that responsibility! What a great human being you both have!

Oh one more thing! A few days ago when I was eating there and leaving, she told me she had tomorrow off. Well, when I came in that next day, she was working! I asked why; and that I thought she told me she was off. She told me she came in for someone else. Of course, why would I think an...

Went in Sunday, 3/9/25, 11pm. Service was the worst. Did not get straws until 15 minutes after we got our drinks. Could not get a refill on our cokes, ignored the entire time. Another gentleman who seemed to be the cook dropped off our food, server never checked back. Dude would walk by, look at us and our empty glasses, then go back to playing on his phone or going to the table behind us, but not us. We are both bartenders, been in the industry for 12 and 15 years each. I understand when it's busy, and it was not. Maybe he was judging us because we looked a little rough, we'd been at the fair all evening and night, but it's waffle house, not fine dining. While he wasn't outright rude, it was just weird, like he didn't want us there. We are the two easiest customers to have, we don't modify anything, we don't demand extra stuff, we normally tip 50% minimum (again, industry.) but tonight was so bad, I only left 20%, and that was just to prove a point, if the reason our server treated us that way was because we looked a little crazy, again from being out in the heat all day. I should have left nothing but I don't have that in me. Ended up going to the gas station up the road to buy more soda for the drive home, after spending $6 on over-iced coke and no refills at waffle house. Never felt so awkward and unwelcome, and will never be going back to this waffle house.
