Beware they are not family friendly. Like previous reviews before me state they do not appear to welcome children. They need to update their website stating they are a only 55+ community and/or no children allowed with exceptions. It appears they may cater to this group. Perfectly fine, just need to advertise it.
I called to make a reservation for potentially staying 3 weeks to a month. The lady I spoke with did not seem interested in the booking. I explained my purpose after a few of her questions. I'm coming to the area to potentially relocate in the Port St. Lucie area to rent or buy home. Her response was "I guarantee you are going to have a hard time". Clearly unnecessary comment. She went on to require me to submit pics of my motorhome for the manager to review. She knew i had 2 children before getting off the phone. I sent the email with pics, and further explanation that I recently retired from the military and coming to do a search not a vacation. No desire to be a permanent stay situation. This was the first time I had to submit pics of my motorhome to stay at an RV park. I should of known the prescreening questions and pics were an indication of something not good. I understand the need to keep standards and riff raff from coming to the RV park. Received a callback shortly after my email. She explained that it would not be a good fit because of the children and that they did not have things for the children to do. Additionally, there is construction in the area that would make things unsafe for them to include potential areas for children to fall around the park. At least she was nice about it. Clearly did not want children in the park and wasted my time. Just need to be honest upfront. I can keep my children entertained on my own and my children can walk without falling over the...
Read moreStopped to refresh and have a quiet evening on my annual trip to the keys. I was exhausted after 12 hours of driving, it was close to 8:00 and I had been told when I booked that escorts to sites stopped at 9. Upon arrival, the office was closed, so I gathered my arrival materials and searched out my site. It was late and raining, so I assumed the escort had turned in early. As I was backing in a very rude man appeared on a golf cart with not hello or welcome; just a frustrated, " Can we do this together?", followed by a terse lecture on how you must have an escort to enter, yada yada (one hour from no escort available). My response was there was no need to be rude. A code was provided with my entry packet which granted entry, I had stood around waiting for an escort, none arrived so I sought out my site. I have stayed at hundreds of rv parks and resorts across the U.S. (my first review due to the poor experience); and never have I faced such a rude greeting. I was in the process of backing into the site (an 8 hour stay) when he appeared. He insisted on directing me turn by turn; as he wanted me perfectly positioned to the left edge of the slab, but couldn't seem to clearly explain where he wanted me at the time. Finally, I insisted on an explanation on the end game and positioned the trailer. He then hung around the site; despite my explaining I was tired and had a long day and insisted on showing me how to hook up power and water. I told him I had been at hundreds of parks and could handle it. His response, "Well, this is how we do it here." He was obviously positioning for his tip; which was lost when he showed up late and frustrated at my site. Subsequently, there were power metering issues and the internet...
Read moreWell-maintained resort style campground in Fort Pierce, Florida. The reservation and check-in process was frictionless, and the folks at the counter were very pleasant and helpful. When you pull in, you will be escorted by one of the staff to your site and they will offer any guidance that you may need to get your rig in place. The sites are paved with clean 50 amp service, water, and sewer. A lot of RV resorts you will see older campers and run down FEMA trailers, but not at this location. The trailers and RVs are newer and well kept. There is plenty to do and if you get a copy of the calendar, you will see that there is something going on every day. We were only there for three days, but one of the nights it was cannoli night! We were there for Super Bowl Sunday and the pool was a buzz with folks watching the game on the big screen. The bathhouse is clean and maintained the same time every day. The showers are large and the water runs very hot. We did not use the laundry, but there were plenty of machines and a nice screened area to wait for your laundry to be done. The park is well lit, and we never worried about our safety. There is some road noise from State Road 70 and a little bit from I-95, but it will become less noticeable after a while. Non-aggressive dogs are welcome and there is a dog walk area outside the park for your pup. There was plenty of shopping, restaurants, grocery, and things to do within just a few miles. There is a camping world less than a mile away if you care for that place. We enjoyed our stay and will come back thanks to the well maintained park, friendly staff, and safe...
