Green Papaya on Grand Ave — Restaurant in Fort Smith

First, I wish could give a 3.5. The food is good. Served quickly too. Had the lemongrass chicken and the shrimp spring rolls. See pics. All were good, chicken was cooked well but not over cooked. Veggies were good too. Peanut sauce was very good for the spring rolls. The wrapper was chewy but not overly so. These are the good things. The not so good: first I was "greeted" by a young man with his back to the door talking on the phone and leaning on the counter. I stood there for several minutes while he continued his conversation. It was not an order being taken. The waitress bringing in an order for the kitchen had to tell him had a customer. He turned and gave a slightly disgusted expression as he had to hang up and do his job. He grabbed a menu and took to a booth. Dropped the menu on the table and left. Went back to phone. Not impressed at all his attitude and lost a full star because of it. The older waitress was super nice. Possibly owner. She took my drink and then my order. Like I said came quick. The food overall was good but I expected to have more lemongrass flavor to the chicken and it was covered in a thin very sweet, clear sauce with a bit of spice to it. While not bad tasting it was overly sweet and not good for anyone that will need watch sugars so beware. The spring rolls need carrot for color and flavor and crunch factor. Finally the peanut sauce had the red chi sauce and while it wasn't a lot it should be served separate from the peanut sauce on the side. I had to use...

Food was good, service was terrible. Four of us walked in and waited near the front for about 5 minutes before being acknowledged. The young guy near the register seemed confused or overwhelmed, but never greeted us. Once sat we waited between 5-10 minutes before finally deciding to flag down a nearby waitress. She found the girl whose section we were in and she finally came and took our orders. She vanished and we sat there for another 5-10 minutes without water before having to flag someone down to get something to drink. In the meantime a girl sitting at the table next to us left after sitting there for well over 10 minutes without being acknowledged. We finally got our food and it was all good, but we never saw our server again. I'm a former server and I understand what busy is like...you hussle! Front of house just seem nonchalant about everything. One of the only times I've ever left zero for a tip. Doubt I'll be back. 3 stars are purley...

I thought I should try a new place for pho. NEVER DOING IT AGAIN NOR WILL I COME TO GREEN PAPAYA ON GRAND AVE. Today, it seems like I was more of an annoyance than a customer. After waiting to be seated, I waited another 10 minutes before I was asked if I wanted anything to drink. I ordered my drink and proceeded with my food order. It was a simple order; pho and spring rolls. Twenty minutes later, I got the pho… I had to wait another five minutes for the spring roll. I asked for siracha and hoisin sauce; 5 minutes later… NOTHING. I HAD TO GO AND TAKE IT FROM ANOTHER TABLE. BTW, the waitress never brought the condiments or checked for refills.
