Waffle House — Restaurant in Fort Smith

Let me just preface this review by saying I LOVE Waffle House. I’ve eaten at this particular one for years and have eaten at Waffle House locations across multiple states. Love the food, and I’m still going to eat there.

This location has kind of gotten on my nerves though. Around Covid we started doing pick up orders and just eating at home. Been doing this for a year or two now, rarely eat inside. Every. Single. Time. Our order is messed up. It has gotten to the point where we stand at the counter and dismantle our order before paying and have them correct everything. It’s usually minor stuff but come on. Every single time! Feel like I get a little attitude as well when I start going through it and pointing every thing out.

Awhile back they royally messed up our order and I don’t know how but we missed some items we didn’t get. Called back and complained and I guess the manager or someone in charge gave us their name and said next time we ordered to food to drop her name and she’d give us the items we were missing that time. They literally said “I’m always here, I’ll fix it. Just give my name next time.” We’ve tried at least once, maybe twice now to get the extra items and every time it’s “Oh, she’s not here today we can’t do that.”

Put ur blinker on and pull in if you are hungry. Y'all this place never disappoints. They must have a new chef, cuz my husband was ecstatic about his eggs being done perfectly overeasy. I forgot to take pics cuz we were so hungry but we didn't wait long after getting coffee that our breakfast was served. I had 2 eggs scrambled hard, they were cooked perfectly. U have a choice of sausage, bacon, or ham. I had 2 pieces of sausage, with wheat toast buttered, and OMGosh the hash browns are too die for. My husband had 2 eggs overeasy, wheat toast buttered and double hash browns, scattered, covered, smothered, chunked, and peppered, which is to say hash browns with cheese, onions, ham, and jalapeno. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. She was really upbeat. Everyone treated everyone like you were at home. It's a place to go eat and be comfortable. It's been a long while since I have been in a waffle house, and the Waffle House on Hwy 71, did not disappoint!! When you go in, you will be kindly informed to sit wherever you like and immediately ur waitress ( ours was top notch) is by your table getting ur drink order and giving you a menu. Back with drinks, we had breakfast so coffee X2 this morning. We both had the special, it came with 2 eggs, cooked any way, 2 pieces of wheat toast buttered, we had the sausage X2, and we replaced grits with hash browns, and yes that's not all, it came with a Belgium waffle on its own plate. Oh my goodness. I couldn't eat all that, but I ate it all but the toast. I really hurt myself y'all. I forgot to take pics until I was 3 bites in! I did get a pic of the waffle though!
