The establishment opens at 6:30am so one would safely assume that the service would be up and running smoothly by 7:40am, one would be wrong. There were three employees in the front behind the counter. 4 patrons entered at about the same time, our orders were taken and paid for in minutes. After which one young lady stood behind the coffee machine for 5 minutes while the other two busied themselves with getting a sweatshirt on and getting their own coffee for themselves. Finally after 8-10 minutes our orders started being placed out by the young lady behind the coffee machine while the other two leaned against the counter commiserating about customers complaining about the time it took to get orders out. “Bro, if I hear one more person complaining I’m going to go off.” From order to exit I was there 17 minutes and I was third in line. Two other patrons were assisted during this time one by the young lady making coffee. I also did not know I needed to ask for a traditional sized coffee when ordering. Our orders were made kids sizes, and I was not willing to wait for another one to be made. I will be going down the hill to Starbucks from now on to receive better service with less attitude from now one. As a visitor to FTC and Ft Thomas, this will not be a...
Read moreFantastic first visit to Ft Thomas Coffee!
I ordered a cold brew with pistachio and it was excellent — robust but smooth, just the right caffeine kick, and the pistachio added subtle flavor without overpowering the coffee. Easily one of the best cold brews I’ve had.
The service was stellar. Casey was friendly, patient, and helpful while I made my choice, even though the shop was busy (yes, she’s my cousin — but I’m being objective and I'd say this either way!). Jonah, who prepared my drink was very polite, efficient, and clearly took pride and care in making it A+. If I had a coffee shop, I'd be glad to have such good ambassadors representing my brand.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with plenty of clean indoor and outdoor seating. It’s the kind of spot that works equally well for catching up with friends, studying, or remote work. The location at Highland & Ft Thomas Ave is convenient with ample nearby parking, and sitting outside (covered or sunny seats) makes for a fun experience. I found very close street parking during the after-school rush.
Overall, a great first impression! Excellent coffee, friendly staff, and a comfortable vibe. Definitely will be back and recommend it to anyone looking for a quality local coffee shop...
Read moreFort Thomas Coffee is one of my favorite spots in town—not just for the coffee (which is always excellent) but for the Connect Center. They’ve created such a useful space for meetings, work sessions, and even hosting small events. Not to mention a kids play house inside!
I’ve booked their meeting rooms a few times now, and they’re perfect—comfortable, well-equipped with Wi-Fi and screens, and stocked with the little things that make a big difference. It’s professional but still has that cozy, welcoming vibe you want from a local coffee shop.
The Connect Membership is totally worth it if you use meeting space often—the perks like bottomless coffee, printing, and discounted room rentals make it a no-brainer. Plus, the staff is fantastic—friendly, helpful, and always happy to make sure you have what you need.
Whether you’re a remote worker, small business owner, parent, or just someone who loves a good cup of coffee in a great space, Fort Thomas Coffee...
