Please read this review before and if you decide to go here.....

I am only giving this place a one-star I wish I could give it zero stars!!! We stopped here on our way back home from a trip always hearing how wonderful Cheddar's was... That statement couldn't be further from the truth. Walking in we were greeted, sat at a table, and ordered onion rings as an appetizer. Just a few minutes later our drink order had arrived. We ordered 2 unsweetened ice teas, and 1 Sprite in a kids cup. We were given 2 sprites and 1 unsweetened ice tea. The waitress appologized and brought the correct drink order at which time she took our dinner order and told us our hand battered onion rings would be right out. Still over a half an hour later and no onion rings... We asked casually if our onion rings we're ready? She slipped away to the kitchen and was back with a beautiful plate of onion rings. Excited to try the "infamous Cheddar's" food we dug in to what should have been piping hot fresh made onion rings that literally took almost 40 minutes to arrive at our table. They were COLD!!! Nothing fresh and hot about them! We quickly brought this to the attention of our waitress who questioned us at first by saying "Are you sure"??? I asked her to feel them and how cold they were and she said... "That's ok I will have them make you a fresh batch". After another 20 minutes passed she returned with a beautiful plate of what one would assume was a piping hot plate of fresh hand battered onion rings, but that sadly was not the case yet again. Still with no dinner at our table and yet another barely warm plate of what should have been piping hot onion rings....we asked to speak to the manager. Approximately 10 minutes later a young man was standing at our table with a burgundy chefs coat on stating he was the manager and asked us what the problem was. We proceeded to explain calmly that this was the second batch of onion rings and both were just barely warm but really cold for being "fresh made". In a annoyed tone he told us "The onion rings are hand breaded and were made to order and we're NOT sitting in a window, that they were served hot"! At this point his attitude and tone was unexceptable and we told him to cancel our dinner order that was not even served to us yet and had already been over an hour. We said we would pay for the drinks and he just said that he would take care of that. We left hungry and upset that we literally wasted over an hour and only had 2 bites of food. Word to the wise, maybe it's better to go in the daytime, we stopped around 7:30 and they were not even busy at all. Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, You do not have my recommendation. I've held off from writing this review because I don't want to come across as someone who just complains about anything and everything in order to get compensated. In fact I have tried to put it out of my mind but this morning, while talking to a co-worker, I realized that my last experience at this restaurant still irritates me.

October 19th we went here for our anniversary. I understand that during a pandemic, going out shouldn't really be a priority anyway. However we have taken precautions and this was the first sit down place we visited since this all started. We dressed up, and went for a later dinner on a work night. Upon arriving we were asked if we wanted to be seated at the bar on stools and gesturing to my dress and heels I said no thank you. So we waited while a table was found. We ended up being seated in the bar area anyway, near the restrooms. At first I was fine with it. It was dark and somewhat quiet and the fireplace in the room added a nice ambiance. But then the bartender who also ended up being our server, started serving this couple who loudly and without headphones video called a friend of theirs. They got louder and louder and more and more obnoxious. I had forgotten my ID so I wasn't even able to order a drink. A painkiller from the menu started to look extra good to me. The menu was scaled down quite a bit which is okay. Our food arrived and it seemed like the chicken tenders had been made earlier that day and just warmed up. Like they had been nuked in the microwave. The whole thing just seemed rushed like we were to finish our food and get out of there asap. We didn't even get asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. We spent over $50 dollars on a meal for two on our anniversary and I left so disappointed and upset I cried. It's just been a hard year for everyone. And I picked Cheddar's because we've had such positive experiences in the past and I was just so...

This was the worst experience here i have ever had. The service was slow but friendly. Our food took an extremely long time to get, over an hour and when we got it it was cold. I mean not warm at all, mac n cheese was cold the cheese on two of the philly steak and cheese sandwiches wasn't even melted and the steak my daughter in law ordered wasn't cooked right she said medium well and it came out bloody. We sent back all the food but mine to have them cook the steak more and have the sandwiches and mac n cheese heated up to be at least warm and get the cheese on the sandwiches melted. Waited another very long time to get it back and when we did the steak looked the same, they just threw another piece of cheese on the sandwiches and it wasn't melted much and the food was still not warm!!! We were there over 2 hours by the time we Got and kept the food to eat. The steak went back a third time and that finally came out right. Our waitress was nice but had a hard time keeping the drinks filled we had to ask another server to go get her to fill them. The manager came over and talked with us and we were nice not angry or anything we just told about the food so she could fix the problem in the kitchen and we were told it was because of a new oven.......and the kitchen being rearranged. Cheddars, if this is real the reason, you made a very bad decision with that! She took our bill and credited the steak meal which was nice but seriously, it took almost 4 hours to get a seat and get the food and eat with two little ones ..... if this happens to anyone else you probably should pay for the entire meal!! I like this restaurant but it will be one of the last places we eat when deciding just because i want at the...

Eat some where else! I used to eat there a lot and forgot why I hadn’t in a long time. Well I was not feeling well so didn’t feel like cooking ordered curbside pick up. All of our food looked and tasted like it was sitting out in a cafeteria all day. You know mashed potatoes get that crusty film on top when they been sitting for a long while, our mashed potatoes where crusty the ribeye was cold chewy and over cooked, the broccoli wasn’t there. I got potato soup it was thick cold and clumped with cold cheeses you could spoon it all out just trying to take a bite then I called to have it replaced when I got back there to pick up new order they said the manager wanted to talk to me I sat there for ever the manager never came out I finally asked the hostess to just give me my $ back she said ok and then there curb side girl came and gave me another bag of cold cafeteria food no apologies, no nothing just more cold crusty food my family refused to eat! My daughter wouldn’t even eat their salad! Total waste of money and time.

While visiting Fort Wayne we stopped in this location for dinner on a Friday evening. Restaurant table was sticky. I am not a fan of sticky tables or chairs. I feel this is a deficiency in cleanliness. Waitress was super friendly, and knowledgeable. I am often on the hunt for a good fish sandwich. I didnt notice a fish sandwich but did get the Cornmeal White Fish. Two sides were Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. Also ordered a Cheddars Painkiller cocktail. Food came up pretty quickly. Fish was okay, it wasn't anything that stood out in any way. Tarter sauce was the same. Not bad. The potatoes had bits of potato skin and also weren't bad, nothing mind blowing. The green beans did stand out, and maybe not is a great way. They were very sweet. Like white sugar sweet. They appear dark. Not a big fan of them. All in all, large portions, mediocre food. The Painkiller was a very fruity, tropical cocktail. Despite the 2 drink maximum, I didnt find it very stout. Food 3 Stars Waitstaff 5 stars
