Updated Review - False Advertising + Food Safety Issue Positive: The quality of the food for what you pay here is, generally, pretty good. Negative: The quality of the food, and drinks, can vary. Service quality varies greatly. Booths are in poor condition, especially near the kitchen. Menu items will change but neither the description nor staff will educate you on that change (or the description will simply be misleading).
We've been eating here for about 8 years. We'd go months eating here every week, and sometimes drift to 1-2 times a month. We really enjoyed it until the issues began to pile up. Now that we have a food safety concern on top of it all, I'm done.
My wife loved their Dulce de Leche cheesecake and decided to order it after a rough day. The size, previously, was generous and it clearly had the expected flavoring, sauce, etc. She ordered it today and received a tiny sliver of cheesecake that was WARM, clearly having been left unrefrigerated for hours at a minimum. We asked the waiter if this was the correct item and he said it was. The price and description in the menu remained the same and he did not warn us of the change at all. We paid $6 for a slice of plain cheesecake with a little chocolate sauce on it. NO Dulce de Leche syrup or flavoring or anything. That's false advertising right there and I don't appreciate being lied to.
The waiter made no offer to take the item back, so we were stuck with this poor substitute of questionable safety. Cheesecake is supposed to be kept refrigerated to prevent spoiling and bacterial growth. Even if you don't know why, most people expect cheesecake to be COLD. I expect you and your staff to know that it should NOT be warm.
We've had other issues in the past: prices being raised but the quality of the food being lowered / switched to premade from a 3rd party, servers vanishing for extended lengths of time, menu items that were not as described (we purchased 'bean dip' that was 90% or more cheese sauce... that doesn't even make sense).
You have lost a regular customer of almost 8 years, earned yourself a bad review, and I sincerely hope that my wife doesn't get sick from that 'cheesecake'. Communication and consideration (especially in regards to health) are basics. I should not have to post here to bring attention to these things. No one should have to question the safety of food you bring out, nor should anyone be confused as to whether or not the item in front of them is the item they ordered. These are very basic expectations, get...
Read more9-18-2016 When we got there the air conditioner was broken, but it was still comfortable with the doors opened so we decided to sit down and order. We ask the waiter if we could get shredded beef instead of hamburger beef on the Nacho appetizer and he said it was no problem. When he served the appetizer it had hamburger beef on it. After telling the waiter we ordered shredded beef he took the appetizer and returned and said the shredded beef would be $3.99 extra on the appetizer. We declined. We then ordered our meals. She ordered a Taco combination dinner with re-fried beans and rice and I ordered a shredded beef Chimichanga. While we waited for our food we noticed that flies and bee's were coming in through the open doors which was annoying not to mention unsanitary. When our food arrived her order was fine, but my Chimichanga was made with a soft Taco tortilla shell. We told them its not right and the hostess/Manager said it was so small because of the way they had to fold it to keep the shredded beef from falling out of the ends. After we told her that we have eaten here many time before and the Chimichanga's have never been this small, she repeated again what she said earlier. We paid $8.00 for the Soda and Ice tea and the chips and salsa. We will not go back. We went to Cebolla's Mexican Grill at Time Corners Shopping Center that was...
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews to places. As someone who is fairly new to Indiana I have been searching high and low for places to eat. I am very very picky when it comes to foods and where I spend my money. Although, this place is definitely one of my tops places here in Fort Wayne. I was very iffy looking online finding places with high ratings, good price, and overall good. Trying new is always scary, I am very glad I stepped out my comfort zone and came here!! Here’s what I liked about it: -chips and salsa complimentary (highly recommend the queso as well!) -for about $14 I ordered a verde burrito. It is steak, flour shell, smothered in queso and cilantro and avocado , with a side of rice and beans. AMAZING! I ate the entire thing. -food came out fast -friendly staff -great environment -the fajitas were also very good. (Most places cannot master shrimp fajitas… here… they have definitely accomplished it!) -good portions of food!!! Very filling! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Things I was not too fond about… -parking lot had many pot holes -most meals do not come with rice and beans -the booths have very unstable seats These minor things will not change the 5/5 quality of food. It is currently after close that I am writing this and wish I had...
