Heard great things, drove over after checking their Sunday hours, which said open until 7. Arrived at 6:30, lighted sign said OPEN, but door was locked. Paper sign in window said dining room closes at 7:30, and to please use drive through. As they close at 8 other nights, I suspect the sign means that the dining room closes half an hour before closing, or 6:30 on Sundays; if this is the case, they were still likely a few minutes early. As I was taking it back home, this was only a minor inconvenience. I pulled up to the window and started my order.

The woman at the window was courteous and professional, although I twice struck out in that they were out of Oxtail and also fried plantains. Again, being near the end of the day, it wasn't too surprising, just a little disappointing. I waited a few minutes for the food, probably ten minutes in total. As I was waiting, I noticed that I was charged four percent additional for not paying in cash - a fact that is not noted anywhere, nor was it communicated. Once I got the two orders (Curry Shrimp and Jerk Chicken), I drove home.

The shrimp was amazing - definitely would get that again. The chicken not so much, surprisingly bland, not all that different from a Meijer rotisserie chicken. The peas and rice were fair, again not all that flavorful. The cabbage was good. Price point was about as expected, all items about ten bucks per order.

I will give it another shot sometime earlier in the day, and perhaps then amend this review. On this first experience, it's...

It's all about the food!

A friend suggested this place for lunch and I was not disappointed at all. Yes, it's located right next to a gas station and the inside isn't much, but it's clean and the owner is very friendly.

And again, it's all about the food! I got the large Jerk Chicken and Fried Plantains. Both were excellent. The chicken came with a type of fried rice I'd never had which was so good. The chicken was excellently cooked, juicy and just the right amount of spice. The dish also came with a side of this sweet hot sauce that gave a nice extra punch if that's what you want and it paired well with the chicken. The star for me was really the side of cabbage, that stuff was amazing, so yummy.

It is a little on the expensive side, but you are getting an excellent meal. The smaller portion of Jerk Chicken would be enough for most, just not me LoL.

Very much looking forward to my next visit where I plan to try the...

Ordered shrimp curry.. It was good.. Just a bit on the salty side while the rice and beans had Barely seasoning. Rice had way to many whole pepper corns. Barely had any curry sauce and a little over priced for 9 shrimp, half scoop of cabbage and rice.. I would come back if it was the last place open.. I asked if it had some spice/heat ..i was told it had a little but was unhappy when I ate it and didn't taste any.. Not what I expected for "authentic Jamaican"food.. I'm a little disappointed.. Will be trying somewhere else in the future..should of asked for a taste test before I bought it smh.. I looked at all the pictures on the reviews and all of them look full and really good.. I feel like I was gyped because mine was barely halfway full. It don't matter if It was almost closing time.. The last customer should get the same service as the first customer. I wish I would of taken a picture...

Well, it is my first time going there with my girlfriend. It was her birthday lunch. We were being “mansplaining” by one staff member that two orders costs that much... after trying to explain, again, that I ordered one curry chicken with rice $7.50 and one plantain $1.50 and a coke$?. They charged me $20 for it and I wasn’t going to pay for a meal that cost that much! They misunderstood our ordered, which would be fine if they had some customer service. In the end they changed it back to a single order at regular price how it was supposed to be. When I opened my containers THERE WAS NO SAUCE IN MY FOOD! The food was dry and bland which came to a surprise with how delicious the plantains were... But for the effort and trouble, I can make Latin style plantains just fine at home. Definitely not going back.

Authenthic, mouth-watering best curry and Jamaican food in Fort Wayne! My friend from Jamaica was visiting the US, and they missed food so we went here on a holiday weekend. It didn’t dissapoint! As an asian american raised in Indiana, I was scraping at any food scraps and juice🤩. My friend said it is so authentic, and it was a bit cooked differently assumed from location of ingredients. We got the curry goat, and curry chicken. The side sauce complimentary in a container was definitely spicy as someone who eats wasabi and onion alone. The portions were so big too! It may not look it to someone, but once eating half of the food you can sleep like a baby rest of the day.

When you walk in the vibe of the place is welcoming with great music playing. The gentleman who helped my daughter and I was very friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were promptly taken care of. I ordered the oxtails, brown stew chicken and jerk chicken. They came with rice and cabbage. FREAKING FABULOUS is what I have to say! Every bit of food was seasoned to perfection, and the meats were tender and juicy. It’s so nice to be able to get Jamican food in Fort Wayne, and add some culture to the city. You must dine here the first chance you have.
