Visited again and I was really hoping that I would have a better food experience. I enjoy the glass noodles at various Asian restaurants around town and here at Shoccu they are indicating that they are sweet potato noodles versus the bean thread noodles that I've had at other restaurants. In this dish half of the noodles weren't quite cooked all the way, so they were chewy and came up on the chopstick as a giant chunk of noodles. Otherwise the noodles had very good flavor. I enjoyed the noodles and the chicken and the vegetables that this dish is cooked with and the sauce was good. Had a chance to visit Shoccu on Illinois Road for dinner and found the place to be underwhelming and maybe average. There are many places to get sushi in town and everybody will have their favorite and tell you that the other place is the best in town. I still will contend that there is no better place than Sakura on West Jefferson next to five guys but to hear about that place you can go over to my review for it. Here at Shoccu the thing that stood out the most was that it took forever for the service. They really weren't even that busy. It took forever to get drinks. It took forever for orders to be taken. It took forever for the food to come. When the food finally did arrive, I thought it was good but not outstanding. I enjoyed the spring roll appetizer but again I've had better. The sushi rolls including the caterpillar roll and the crunch Munch were good but not outstanding. The salmon entree was tasty, well cooked, and flavorful. This place would probably get a higher overall rating. Had the service been better. Still, it's worth giving it a shot and seeing if you can find something that you haven't had at some of the other sushi restaurants in town.

Shoccu is a unique and delicious find in a strip mall in Southwest Fort Wayne. They offer a fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine, with a focus on fresh and flavorful ingredients. I recently had the opportunity to try their lunch special, which included a combo of salmon nigiri and bulgogi with broccoli. The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bulgogi was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The broccoli was also steamed to perfection. Shoccu is also one of the few restaurants in Fort Wayne that offers Dolsot Bibimbap. This dish is a must-try for any fan of Korean cuisine. It features a savory mixture of rice, vegetables, and meat or tofu, all cooked in a hot stone pot. The service at Shoccu was friendly and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. Prices at Shoccu are on the average to high side for lunch. However, I believe the quality of the food and the level of service justify the price. Overall, I highly recommend Shoccu to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience in Fort Wayne.

Fast-casual Japanese/Asian fusion restaurant that does more than brisk takeout business as the dining tables (indoor and outdoor) are ample enough for perhaps 80(?) diners! The sashimi was fresh and clean! The sushi rolls were properly done and yummy! The apps and entrée options were varied and what we tried (General Tso's & spicy red pepper chicken dishes) were tasty, along with the small bowls of soup and salad! I would recommend to any for a quick lunch or a dinner with family/friends! We spent $65(+tax) for a full specialty roll, 1 nigiri, 1 sashimi, 2 entrées, 1 beer for 2 adults with a box of leftovers! The prices seemed fair for the portions, quality, brick-and-mortar, and Bidenomics stagflation currently.

My children and I went to this place and of course by the rating had a terrible experience. I contacted the manager the very next day to explain why I had an unpleasant experience and why we weren’t satisfied with the food. He told me that he was going to have the owner contact me several times I called for over two weeks and never heard back from the owner and left messages and spoke to the manager several times For him to inform me over and over again that the owner would not contact me due to his lack of English communication. I wasn’t satisfied for a small portion of the food that I was requesting a refund for and they refuse to give it to me. Not only did they refuse a refund for a portion of the bill but he explained to me that I didn’t have good customer relatable skills considering I contacted them very next day and explained I should have told them immediately while I was there. I explained I didn’t want to do that considering I had my children with me and I didn’t understand why I needed a timeframe in order to explain why their food wasn’t up to par. He was extremely rude and continued to talk over me and tell me that he would refuse a refund and will not allow me to speak to the owner. This establishment is not only overpriced but their food is not any good. Don’t waste your time or your money. If an owner is not willing to contact you back that says a lot about their...

I’m rather disappointed in this place, partially as it’s right up the road but also with the service and quality. I’m not one to typically make reviews, but the consistency of bad experiences is what lead me here.

I’ve been here 5 times, sat at the exact same table each time, and each time was a disappointing experience.

My main issue is the amount of time it takes 1) to have someone come to your table initially 2) to get your order. Several instances of having to wait 30+ minutes for a simple sushi order when there is 3 whole tables, mine included, occupied. 3) In my opinion, the price does not reflect the quality of the fish. Compared to Koto and Nikita (which is actually cheaper per piece than Shoccu) you are overpaying for lesser quality fish. And 4) Each instance of coming to this restaurant has ended up with missing or incorrect items at my table. The servers don’t take the time to really listen to what you order so this is what leads missing or incorrect items.

I understand that I’m just some guy who’s frustrated, but I have been to countless sushi restaurants and this is by far the worst restaurant in my opinion to go to.

I would rather buy Kroger sushi...
