Overview: Great place, Big variety, Very good sushi, good noodles, chicken, and rice. Expect to Pay $15/$18 per person depending on the time as drinks are $2.50, you pay at the end so go early if you want lunch prices.
I don't normally leave reviews but im the type of person that reads the worst reviews first to know the worst scenario and some of the negative reviews made me anxious.
Here's a review for people like me talking about the worrisome topics.
6.99/lb fee on leftover food: Its a Warning, not a regulation. We (3) left a small amount of food (an egg roll that fell on the floor and 4 bites of food) and it was ignored, this rule is likely inplace for people who leave entire plates of food that go uneaten. Its good etiquette anyway and be considerate to their margins since sushi is their specialty.
Oppresive Tip-Hungry staff: Not the case. I hate staff that don't let me do my own thing at a buffet so I was concerned but after getting our drinks they left us alone but still somehow quickly caught that my drink was empty and gave me a refill. Genuinely perfect experience. They stood there for a bit as we were paying the bill but they realized it was awkward and stepped away to give us time when we were getting the cash out.
Small White-meat to Dark-meat Chicken Ratio Had plenty of white meat. I'm extremely picky with my chicken and don't eat anything that isn't chicken breast or close to it. There definetly was less white meat than dark meat but it wasn't by a lot and its likely because of people like us that like exclusively chicken breast that cause the ratio to go down when they refill it with both types.
Food Quality: Sushi was gorgeous and well made. I've had from the range of $8 grocery store sushi and $20 Korea Town New York City sushi. And it was surprisingly closer to the fancier of the two in both appearance and in taste but of course wasn't breathtaking, exceptional for a buffet though. Big fan of their Mei Fun(thin noodles) and white rice.
My criticisms: The breaded chicken was a bit doughy and unpleasantly soft, it's usually my favorite in these kinds of places so I was caught off guard. Pork dumplings were The rest of the food was really good so I didn't deduct stars for it. They only had sweet tea, lemonade, and diet Pepsi (and probrably water) and at $2.50 a drink (including refill) that's quite limited selection. I'm assuming they ran out of non-diet options, but if they didn't its fine people don't go to buffets for the soda and juice.
Note: Didn't try the hibachi or prime rib, I came for the chicken, noodles, rice, and sushi and it was good. Also one of the fried deserts someone else tried was stale, looked kinda like a churro. I'm sure there's more to say but I've been writing this for an hour so I've...
Read moreThe food here wasn’t horrible like normal. The service was fine until the end of our meal. We split the bill 3 ways. We had a bigger group so it was just easier to do the bill in 3 separate bills. 2 of us used card and one used cash. The person that payed with cash gave her a tip for the whole group. We thought it was easier for her and us if one person left the tip for the whole group instead of doing it as 3 different tips. We also thought since said person was paying with cash, she would like a cash tip more then a card tip. She took our bills and proceeded to look at us weird and say that there was no tip from the people that used card. We explained that since he used cash that he was just putting all of the tips together in cash so she wouldn’t have cash tips and card tips. She then looked at us funny and was still telling us we needed to tip her for her service since there wasn’t any on the bills paid with card. We continued to try to explain that the tips were combined just on one bill. She proceeded to then roll her eyes and walk away from us in a hurry. She talked about us to her co workers and the rudely stared the entire time we ate the rest of our food. I told the guy at the desk about it and all he did was apologize. Im not normally a inconsiderate person but the whole time all she did was get each of us a drink which in total was 5 cups. She was very rude and she does get hourly pay there, its not just tips. She was completely out of line and I even wanted to take back the tip we did leave her. A tip is not mandatory to leave when dining. You leave a tip depending on your service. She’s lucky she even got the tip we left her. I am very disappointed in this visit to...
Read moreFirst off, the food is great and there were a lot of options from meat to rice to salads and seafood, especially because it is cleaner than other buffets, but the main thing was the customer service. At first, when we dined in and got our first plates of food, we were almost done with them before going back to get more but before that, one of the staff came and wanted to take some of the plates when we weren't done yet, and we told them that we will finish it off (to not leave leftovers and make sure we ate everything) but then she stood there and we decided to put the food into 1 plate and give her the rest of the emptied ones. We then got more food and we found her lingering around (probably looking for plates to take, which was fine and understandable). But then, when we were on our last dessert (we weren't done and were still almost halfway through our food) the same waiter came and gave us the bill. It felt very rushed and it felt like they were talking us to leave. And so we decided to put money in AFTER we were dine eating, but then she came up to take it and we told her we still didn't put money in and she just stood there, waiting to put the money. That's other than the fact that they didn't really greet us and were very 'stiff' with us. That really affected the atmosphere too, because we felt like we needed to finish everything quickly, which doesn't really make sense since this is a buffet. Other than that, the food was good seafood and the...
