We took our mini labradoodle to Petco to be groomed. He had been groomed about 3 times prior. Dropped him off at 10:30 am and from the get-go we knew we were in trouble. The groomer that was going to groom him couldn't even work the computer to check him in. Mind you it wasn't an oh he is here, she needed full blown information, (which is fine) but she could not type or use a computer and it took over 30 mins to just check him in. So, we left to do some errands and shopping and was told he would be done about 2:30. 2:30 rolls around and no phone call. 3:00 so I went into the store. Oh we are still working on him. Oh okay well when do you think he will be done. Give us another hour. So I left. I went back in the store at 4:00 for him. No, he is not done yet. Okay so when do you think he will be done. Ohhh give me another hour. I go back in the store at 5:00. Is Archie done yet? No, he won't be done until 6:00 pm. In the meantime I am trying to keep calm. Finally, the dog is done at 5:30 - I go in to get him and he was SHAVED so far down to his skin that he had a rash. Took him home and he was shaking the entire way home, head hung low. He KNEW he looked ridiculous and ugly. I had to buy him a sweater so he wouldn't hide. Never going back, didn't get a I'm sorry for the wait or a reason. The groomer was "out there" like a 70's hippie and I don't think she could put two sentences together. Not impressed....
Read moreYour employees are top notch and well suited to their jobs in a pet store. They are always very friendly, answer my questions, and seem to truly love pets and pet owners. The only employee I interacted with on 3/2124 was the person who checked me out at the cash register. We chatted about my purchase (a male Double Tailed Beta fish that looks just like a rose petal). We chatted about the sad state of the way Betas are kept in pet stores and how SOMETHING needs to be improved with this. I made a point of selecting a Beta that seemed healthy and strong, but not all the Betas in your store were healthy and strong. In fact, I let her know that there was a dead one among the others. Petco still gets a "10" from me though because this "Beta problem" seems to be an industry wide problem. Perhaps Petco can join me in trying to get something done about this. I am going to speak to my legislative representative.
I have never had any fish from Petco die on me prematurely and I have never bought a plant from Petco that was riddled with snails.
I got my cat "chipped" at Petco on one of the monthly vet visits there. This was quite convenient, but what is it? Just one half-day per month? Because I like Petco, I'd like to see the vet service increased to maybe...
Read morePickup was good. Asked some questions to 3 different associates but got 2-3 different answers from them. Some questions was to someone over the phone. Same questions to 2 different people at the store. Went with the answers from the "expert" but found out later through some researching that some of that persons answers was not correct and some was. Still do not know if we can trust the answers we may get so I am not sure what the benefit is to go to a brick and mortar store instead of getting stuff blindly online (Amazon or other online business) for cheaper if your able too. Don't mind paying a little more at store since we can get the expert advice or direction but if that is not available or inconsistent then I should just buy whatever online after doing my own research at the lowest price I can find. Best feedback I can offer is if you are not the expert or know much about certain animals do not provide your best guess. Tell person you will introduce them to the expert at the store or provide the hours they will be at store to...
