We have been here numerous times to watch the football games because they have so many TVs and we’ve never had an issue in the past here (or any bar for that matter) of getting the game we want put on a different TV.
Today we showed up because my wife-who recently gave birth and wanted to watch her first NFL game all season-loves going to the Gardens Bar And Grill. When we arrived there was only one bar tender but everyone was seated and had their drinks so it’s not like he was overwhelmed. We made our way to an open table and made conversation about wanting to watch the Chiefs game with some regulars at the table next to us. We assume they’re regulars because one of them said “I’ll get the chiefs game on for you” and he asked for the remote.
This is verbatim the conversation that followed.
Customer: “Can I get the remote for 18?”
Bartender: “NOPE…my bar my rules, I’m not changing them”
Customer: “oooo they’re going to leave you a bad yelp review”
Bartender: “good, let ‘em!”
This I felt was kind of odd so I asked him again if he could put the game on one of the TVs we could see, to which he said “I already have the chiefs game on”. The TV he is referring to is in the far corner of the bar with no table or seating arrangements and we had an infant and a car seat so clearly that wasn’t going to work. He tried to explain that he doesn’t want to be rude but his reason for not changing them is simply because he didn’t want to.
This bartender was not only very rude and inhospitable but he forgot our order and had to be reminded. He put in the order wrong at the table next to us. Dropped plates and silverware and also was slurring his word. He was clearly under the influence of something and it made me sad to see. Hopefully that gentleman can get some help but it will be some time...
Read moreOkay so this is long over due.. I’ve been coming to this bar since December 2023 I am a frequent, some may say a regular but it’s because this bar is HOME. The environment is friendly and fun no matter what time of day or day of the week. The owner is phenomenal, incredibly friendly and really listens to any concerns when it comes to this bar. The servers/bartenders are fun, friendly, wacky, spontaneous, talented and genuine. This is the modern day “Cheers” where everyone knows your name. (Hope I didn’t age myself too much).
Lindsay is always chipper and ready to get you what you want and when you want it. She’s always smiling and on point with your order.
Chris is like the brother you always wanted and needed. He’s definitely mastered his job. There with a smile, and ear and a strong drink or beer if you prefer.
Courtney is the gardens cheerleader but realist, she will always have the best shots in mind if you are unsure of what you want. She will keep you on your toes.
Lauren is the bar sweetheart, she will always have your back whether it’s a stiff drink, a cold beer, or a friendly smile to make you feel welcome.
This place is no joke, the real deal.
Lastly we have Nate the GM, more of the father figure he keeps this place running in tip top shape, although a little intimidating at first he’s really just a solid dude who wants everyone to have a good time “safely” this is his place and he is proud of it.
Bottom line… I’m a lifer 😂🤷♀️
Thanks gardens team for being there for me through the good, the bad, the ugly...
Read moreTruly terrible experience. Came in for a late dinner to a pretty empty restaurant. Waitress warned us that the kitchen was new people and slow, but that was a massive understatement and only one part of the problem.
Our group of 9 ordered food at about 9pm and some still hadn't gotten their food by 11:30. Two of the burgers came rare despite being ordered medium and both the fried pickles and the loaded tots were too salty to eat (think movie theater popcorn and then double the salt - literally).
On top of that, I don't know where the manager was, but the kitchen clearly wasn't processing orders even close to how they came in. A group of 3 that came about an hour after us had their food before most of our group. How did their burgers come before ours???
Oh, and it was nearly club music volume in there. Too loud to talk at all without leaning across the table - made it so there was no possibile way of having a conversation with more than about 3 people.
The waitress was very kind, very apologetic, and I don't think she was the problem in any way. It was a...
