I found myself in Fort Worth and decided to stop at Lone Star Brunch & Breakfast for a quick bite. The overall vibe is relaxed, family-friendly, and welcoming, and our server Kim absolutely made the experience better than expected. She kept the coffee fresh, checked on us often, and genuinely took pride in making sure everyone was taken care of.
I ordered the chicken and waffles, and while the portion was huge and definitely Instagram-worthy, the flavor was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing I would write home about either. My brother-in-law had the Tex Mex skillet, and he really enjoyed it. He said it was hearty, flavorful, and a good value for the price.
What really stood out were Kim’s thoughtful little touches. She labeled my to-go box with exactly what was inside so I would not have to guess later when pulling it out of the fridge. It is small things like that that show she goes the extra mile to make the experience better than your average diner.
I was also able to nurse my baby at the table with no issue, which made me appreciate how comfortable and family-friendly the atmosphere is. The bathroom was not the freshest, but it was a busy morning and there was a group of regulars meeting for their breakfast club, so I get how that happens. They had a donation box for school supplies for kids which shows they care about their community.
This is not an upscale, trendy brunch spot, but it delivers on what it promises. You get a fair, hearty breakfast at a fair price with genuinely kind service. Kim was the highlight of our visit and is the reason I...
Read moreI dined alone, hostess was not at the front but greeted me from where she was. I was sat immediately. Within seconds my server got my drink ordered. Got my coffee right after that. She answered my questions and I opted for the “for mom” with upgraded pancakes (banana Nutella) and an extra side of hash browns. Upgrade charge was very reasonable. Were the pancakes the best I’ve ever had? No, but they were solid. I think their pancakes would be great as a tres leches pancake (menu suggestion, perhaps?) Hash browns were crispy on the outside, soft of the inside, far cry from the hay that other places serve up. Sausage links were juicy. Eggs were not overcooked at all. Absolutely loved the old school glass ketchup bottles. Bathrooms were very clean and ladies room had complimentary sanitary items which is a completely underrated and highly appreciated touch. All in all, absolutely would...
Read moreWent here on my birthday for brunch. Do not go here. It’s not like the prior restaurant Happy Town. Everyone ignores you and you wait forever. And nobody says hello and everyone looks at you with an attitude. Never again. Never Experienced this ever in my life. The waitress -a heavy set woman with short hair, had her daughter there with her entire family. Completely ignored us. And when I said something the blonde with the short hair just stared at me. What’s wrong with these people? I think they’re racist… all white. -And the other minorities were also waiting . We left and nobody cared. My husband who was also there and totally ignored- is a fighter pilot in ft worth- will be telling the military community about this place. No thanks owner- I never plan to...
