My wife and I have been reading the reviews trying to decide if we wanted to eat here. We finally gave it a try. The chips were OK, nothing special, the salsa was pretty good, they had 2 different ones and we tried and enjoyed them both. We also ordered the guacamole which was great, a little on the salty side but we aren't much on salt as it is so we still think it was great! We ordered individual steak and chicken fajita plates. They came to the table hot and sizzling, they were both really good and the onions were very grilled, just like we like em. The tortillas need some help though... Store bought and plain. They lost points there. The rice was not authentic Mexican rice, it was good but not authentic (white rice with Mexican seasoning?). The beans were OK but not authentic either. We also took advantage of the weekend "free margaritas"... They were pretty darn good for free. We've been to restaurants where they had free ritas and they were like Rita-flavored drinks without alcohol but these had tequila, not the best but good for free. The service was great, our server was friendly and tended to us regularly. The place looks a little old for the area but not disgusting. The prices were fair. The menu has a few items that are hard to find in alót of restaurants (fideo and ceviche) so we will be back to try more items another day. I will keep coming until they give me reason not to, all in all... A good place to eat. Added 2 weeks later... We have been by twice since the first review and I have been very pleased. The ceviche was great, the Mexican enchilada plate was awesome and filling and their horchata is also good. The Chile relleno was pretty good, not as good as my wife's but it was good and it came with tortilla soup which was decent (I'm not a fan of soup anyway) too much...
Read moreI went to habanero and ordered 8 Carne asada tacos 2 burritos and 2 sides of beans and rice. Everything was ok with the burritos and beans and rice but when my family and I went to eat the Carne asada tacos we noticed there was only 3-4 tiny chunks of Carne asada and a heaping mound of onion and cilantro to cover it up. I called habanero and explained to the waitress the issue and see if I could bring them back for correctly made tacos and she told me to hold while she went and spoke with the cook. I heard her explain the situation and right away I heard the cook start yelling about how I'm wrong. She came back and told me they wouldn't do anything because that's just how they come. I asked her if they had a phone I could send a picture to for them to take a look at and she said no, they won't do anything because the owner isn't there. So if the owner isn't there then it's just the customers fault? If you want great street tacos go to Javiers taquaria about 5 min away. They're kind and won't rip you off. I try to support local businesses but places like this ruin it for other great local businesses by blaming customers. I'll be posting the pictures to yelp if anyone...
Read moreActaully a -1☆, We ate there March 26, 2018. I ordered the combition fajitas they were okay. They served them with steak, chicken, stuffed shrimp and sausage. The sausage and shrimp was a strange combination, because it wasn't regular shrimp. Almost like it was added as a second thought. The shrimp were deep fried, stuffed with an slice of jalapeno with the tail still on it. My husband ordered The Enchilada Mexicana..His food was cold and the cheese wasn't melted on it. He was going to send it back, but then my food came out. So he ate it anyway. That was a huge mistake, because within 6 hours of eating there he became sick with diarrhea and vomiting. He ended up at the hospital were he was diagnosed because of he's symptoms, and bloodwork with a bacterial food borne illness. After searching what he ate...We believe it was caused by the queso fresco they serve on top of the enchiladas. It's a very volatile cheese, which we unfortunately found out later. We will not eat...
