To know me is to know that I CAN'T STAND TEX MEX, which is why I avoid them. Me and my guy visited this place today (9/18/25), not knowing it was Tex Mex. For the first time, I'm happy we were unaware because we would have never given this place a chance. Listen to me when I tell you. This place is A1. The food was seasoned WELL to where I'm thinking there's someone black in that kitchen (I could be wrong of course). Between me and my guy, he spent $60(not including tip). We got the Mexican Porkchop Platter with rice and beans, pancakes, Mexican coffee, regular coffee, chocolate cake, Parillada(steak, chicken, shrimp, and sausage), and sweet tea. From the chicken, to shrimp, steak, sausage, and pork chop, each item had its own flavor, still with that grilled flavor (I appreciated how each item had its own flavor versus tasting the same if that makes sense). But, let's pause from the food. The service alone would have had me return. The staff was so friendly. We got there an hour before closing and they still welcomed us. Another couple came in about BEFORE closing but they weren't turned around. Them, like us, was greeted with a smile and A1 service (i overheard them complimenting the service and food to each other). If you're considering this place, I am voting yes. This is now MY Mexican place. I loved it. I loved it so much so I had to compliment the manager on my waitresses service as well as the food. I will be back SOON. I didn't take pictures of the food before eating so you get...
Read moreI only went once, so this is my initial impression. I like the inside decor. It's more Western than Mexican, but cozy and rustic. The waitstaff was friendly, but a little inattentive. Still, no problem at all with the service. Also open long hours, 7 days a week. How great is that!
Chips& Salsa: I didn't dislike them, but they were nothing special. Salsa had decent flavor, but wasn't hot at all. Very average.
Queso: DO NOT ORDER THIS I asked for Chile con Queso, and they didn't have any. So I ordered the Queso. They served me Nacho Cheese Sauce- the kind you get out of a can, or the type you get at 7-11 for nachos. I'm not kidding. They seriously need to throw that stuff out and learn to make real Queso. This was almost a deal breaker for me.
Beef Enchilada Plate: Big portion, and reasonably priced! The beans were good, and the rice and enchiladas were Really good!
Extra Points for having Mexican Cokes there, too! (They are better than American Cokes- trust me)
Conclusion: Over all, it's a thumbs up, with just the caveats I mentioned earlier. Is it something I would go out of my way for? No. But if it's close, should you go there? Absolutely. (But don't order the Queso, and...
