New York Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Fort Worth

DEFINITELY WORTH A 35 MINUTE DETOUR! It was a small intimate setting. At first they brought the bread to the table and it was freshly baked. We originally decided to get a couple of pizzas. But upon trying the garlic butter spread and Red sauce with the cheesy bread... We immediately put in a to-go order for cannelloni. The pizza was amazing with the crust slight crisp and no sogginess. It was our daughter's birthday and she's a big pizza fan. At the end they brought out a tiramisu. I've tried five or six different places tiramisu before and it's always dry and totally saturated with coffee flavor. What he brought out was the first time I truly tasted a good tiramisu. It was moist and had a slight coffee taste. Even though I've tried it four or five times at different places. It was the first time I truly HAD it!

When we got home 3 to 4 hours later we took the cannelloni out of the cooler and heated it in the oven. And it was...

Most reviews I read said the pizza was great. However, it is NOT New York pizza. The crust is way too thick. It’s like a Pizza Hut hand-tossed, blah. I ordered a plain pie (cheese, no other toppings) for takeout and there was too little sauce for the amount of crust and the it was bland - no taste of oregano, basil, or garlic. The mozzarella was average. It wasn’t real gooey and stretchy and there wasn’t much of it for a plain pie.

The cashier and oven guy weren’t overly friendly, nor were they discourteous - just disinterested. While I was there a woman came in to pick up 2 large pies. On her way out, she dropped them and they landed upside down. The staff said and did nothing. They just watched her pick them up and walk out the door. I expected them to ask to inspect the pies and offer to replace them, but they didn’t.

Not only is their food and tastes extremely amazing. But it’s got the feeling that Italians made it themselves. Not the fakes that call themselves authentic. They the real deal. They also gave us extras on top of what we ordered which made me realize I’ve been highly missing out. I always see them pop up for pizza places but never chose to try them till my finance said let’s do it. I’m so happy we did and to the owners you guys are killing it.
