Taco Tour 2017 landed at this jewel for its second stop on the journey to find the best taqueria in the Funk. Upon entry we knew we were in a taco hot-bed, as the place was packed with tejanos and gringos alike eagerly awaiting their orders. Admittedly, we were a little turned off by this somewhat chaotic atmosphere. However, this all changed in a hurry when that Puro DF flava flave started hitting our table.

A few of the tour members ordered Gorditas with our taco orders. The Gorditas were brought out first and turned out to be The Taco Tour 2017 Play of the Day. We filled the Gordita with suadero as the meat of choice and topped with cheese, sour cream, cilantro and onions. These bad boys were so good, Taco Bell should be forced to remove the word Gordita from its menu. With a hot and fresh tortilla and suadero sending us to flavor town, our Gordita's had us blocking out that noise from the other customers and locking in on the real bounty of tacos then arriving at the table.

Meats of choice ranged from suadero, pastor, bistec and pollo. To cut to the chase, these tacos were the best Taco Tour 2017 had tasted. Fresh, flavorful and authentic is all we need to say. The Power Play was a split between (a) Pastor and (b) The Green Sauce. That pastor meat is so good it makes you wanna slap yo mama.With a signature spice and flavor, I personally could have eaten more than my body weights worth. The Green Sauce had an unmatched flavor that paired perfectly with the tacos while giving it some diablo fire for them boyz trying to get spicy.

While you won't find the best dining atmosphere or a dessert to top off that taco party you just raged at, Tacos La Banqueta Puro DF is going to deliver the best tacos you can imagine. Taco Tour 2017 highly suggests for that quick taco fix- get in and get out.

I have passed this place so many times over a 14 year period, noticing every time it has had a steady flow of clientele coming through. It was something I had wanted to try and now I ask myself why I waited so long to treat myself? Maybe it was so I could appreciate it as much as I do now? The point here is to not procrastinate. This place makes really good street tacos . A little helpful hint for new customers giving them a first try. There are two sauces. 1, my favorite, a creamy light green, burn your mouth off hell fire sauce that is very savory. My mouth waters just thinking about it. 2. Another savory, but mild red taco sauce. You can choose flour or corn tortilla and with or without onion and cilantro. Give it all to me please. It's hard to say no to anything here. At my third visit, they notice me as a regular. I really like adding this to my choices to get a quick bite to eat. It feels like this is going to be a long term relationship for me. First time visit, it is in a pretty rough neighborhood, the food had nice flavor except they gave me the wrong meat in my torta 😑 I ordered the Suadero because I had never tried it and my waitress described it as a Fajita style steak meat, and my daughter had the cabeza (barbacoa) tacos, but they gave both of us caveza 😑 it was good but id be nice if the young lady would have payed more attention to what i ordered 😞also they didnt add the confiments to my torta that I asked the waitress for I asked that they add lettuce and tomato and avocado and mayo along with the cilantro and onion but they only put mayo, lettuce and meat 😞!! It wasn't what i wanted! ... also the employees kept staring at us 😯 maybe because it was our first visit.... Ill give this place another try in a few weeks and Ill update my review... I did like the flavor of the meal even if it was wrong and the employees did speak English, at least a few of them.. Also the Limonade was VERY GOOD!!!! Not of fan of their Orchata! And the prices were reasonable... Hopefully they get the order right next time...
